The Annual Public Safety Awards Banquet was held on March 7, and recognized members of Weatherford Police Department and Weatherford Fire-Rescue with special awards. We are grateful for each of our first responders and everything they do to keep our community safe and strong!
The Weatherford Police and Fire Foundation held a Clay Shoot Fundraiser on March 20 at Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch. The Foundation serves an important role in our community, providing community outreach through efforts such as you programs, education, and a benevolent fund. National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week is April 15-19 and honors the critical role of emergency dispatchers who are the unsung heroes behind the scenes These dedicated professionals are the first point of contact in times of crisis, providing calm guidance and essential information to both callers and emergency responders Their expertise and quick thinking save lives daily, helping us build a strong community This week celebrates their resilience, compassion, and commitment to serving the public, highlighting their indispensable contribution to public safety
It was all smiles and “hoppiness” at the Annual Downtown “Hop Around” on March 30. This fun, family event attracted hundreds of people to the downtown area to enjoy free activities and tons of Easter fun! The Hop Around included food trucks, face painting, Easter Bunny photos, candy hunt, and so much more. THANK YOU to all the residents and merchants who came out to support this community event!

The Kidz Fishin’ Derby at Holland Lake on March 30 was an absolutely wonderful day with beautiful weather and a ton of fun! Thank you to everyone that joined us - we hope you had as much fun getting the kids “hooked” on the outdoors as we did!
