City Hall is currently operating on a modified schedule with new procedures for the safety of our community members and city employees.

City Hall days and hours of operation to the public are: Monday and Wednesday ∙ 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday ∙ 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday ∙ Closed City Council Meetings will remain virtual online via teleconference until further notice. To ensure the safety of both the community and employees, the City implemented a series of measures designed to promote health and safety practices ordered by health officials at City Hall. Plexiglass panels were installed at City Hall customer service counters and employee desks to serve as barriers and prevent the spread of the virus. Safety signage and hand sanitizer stations were placed throughout City Hall. Employees were given facial masks to wear for the unforeseeable future and are required to follow social distancing guidelines. Community members who visit City Hall are now required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing by using the markers on the floor as a guide of where to stand in line. The City asks all visitors to not visit City Hall if they are experiencing: a fever of 100 degrees or higher, chronic coughing or sneezing, shortness of breath or any other flu-like symptoms. South El Monte City Officials’ first priority continues to be the safety of our community members and employees, while continuing to provide essential services to the greatest extent possible. City Officials and staff will continue to monitor on going health developments in the State of California, LA County, and South El Monte and will follow all guidelines set forth by Governor Gavin Newsom and LA County Public Health officials. “This pandemic has challenged and changed the way we live, work, shop and socialize, but the family atmosphere in our small town will never change. That is the fabric of our city and what brings pride to residents, businesses and employees,” said one City Official. All other City facilities will remain closed until further notice. Due to the LA County Public Health Order restricting large public gatherings, all City sponsored summer events have been cancelled.
