South El Monte City Hall RESUMES REGULAR OPERATING HOURS

As the Governor and Public Health officials ease COVID-19 restrictions, the City of South El Monte has resumed to regular operating hours with its continuous safety precautions as of June 15, 2020. City Hall is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to the public. In accordance with Executive Order N-25-20 and guidance from the California Department of Public Health on gatherings, City Council Meetings will continue to be held via teleconferencing. Members of the public have access to listen to and participate in the meeting by calling-in at the USA Toll-Free number, 1-888-204-5987, Access Code: 9671457. The members of the public may also watch the livestreamed meetings on the City website at cityofsouthelmonte.org. Individuals wishing to submit a general comment or a comment on an agenda item, may email City Clerk Donna Schwartz at dschwartz@soelmonte.org or call (626) 579-6540 to leave a voice mail message by 5:00 p.m. before or on the day of City Council Meeting. All comments will be added to the City Council Agenda as part of public comment. The Public Safety Center is now operating its regular hours, Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Community Center is only open for it’s Summer Day Camp during its camp operating hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Senior Center and parks will remain closed until further notice.

Additionally, to ensure the safety of our community by observing social distancing guidelines by Public Health officials, the City of South El Monte reminds our community members that all special events including the 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks Show, Summer Concerts, and Movies in the Park are cancelled.

Community members are reminded that if they plan to visit City Hall or any of the opened City facilities, a facemask is required, and they must follow the safety measures implemented. Furthermore, as a safety measure to the public and employees, community members are asked to stay home if they have the following symptoms: fever, cough, sneezing, shortness of breath and any other flu-like symptoms.

PATRIOTIC COMMISSION VACANCY The City of South El Monte is accepting applications to fill one vacancy on the Patriotic Commission. The term of office shall expire on January 31, 2021. In order to qualify for consideration, you must be a South El Monte resident and submit both an application for appointment to commission and a live scan application. Patriotic Commission and live scan applications may be obtained Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Reception Desk at South El Monte City Hall, 1415 N. Santa Anita Avenue, South El Monte or on the City’s website at cityofsouthelmonte.org. Applications will be accepted until the vacancy is filled.
