SENIORS SENIOR RESOURCES COVID-19 IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY At this time, the latest Los Angeles County Public Health order continues to encourage people at risk for severe illness or death from COVID-19 such as unvaccinated older adults and unvaccinated individuals with health risks to take protective measures when interacting with people outside of their household. This includes wearing face masks and social distancing, especially indoors or in crowded spaces. For those who are not yet fully vaccinated, staying home or choosing outdoor activities as much as possible with physical distancing from other households whose vaccination status is unknown is the best way to prevent the risk of COVID-19 transmission. CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
If you are a caregiver for a loved one, connecting with other caregivers through a support group should be a part of your selfcare routine. Support groups such as AgingNext offer a safe place to share your feelings and experiences, discuss concerns, and leave with insight, tips and strategies to help you better care for your loved one and yourself. At the moment, AgingNext meets via Zoom from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Wednesday. Joining this group is free but registration is required. The City’s Dial-a-Cab or Diamond Ride program is a subsidized curb-to-curb cab service program designed to supplement travel means for persons with disabilities and those age 60 and older residing in Diamond Bar.
