PARKS & REC NEWS
Cedar Park Parks & Recreation is working hard to provide welcoming spaces and great places for play. For the latest department updates on projects, department news and upcoming events, follow us on Facebook or Instagram @cedarparkparks.
BRUSHY CREEK LAKE PARK PLAYGROUNDS
Out with the old and in with the new! Construction of the new playground at Brushy Creek Lake Park began in early February with hopes to have this new addition up and running by spring.
This new playground will include a new 2 to 5 year old playground, a separate 5 to 12 year old playground and swings. The 5 to 12 year old playground will have two towers, rope climbers, 4 slides and a warped wall!
The size of this new playground will double the size of the old playground that was originally installed in 2003. During construction there will be no playground open, but the remainder of the park is open.
Find out more about park projects online at cedarparktexas.gov/parks or scan here to visit the project update page.
BRUSHY CREEK LAKE PARK SPLASH PAD
Get ready to cool off! Starting in early summer of 2024, the Brushy Creek Lake Park splash pad will undergo a complete overhaul and renovation. This project will remove all existing water features, plumbing, electrical, and aquatic equipment and replace it with new, updated equipment and technologies.
There will be numerous water features, new splash pad floor, and landscaping updates. This is the first major update to this splash pad since its opening in 2003. After completion, Brushy Creek Lake Park will have a new playground and splash pad for children of all ages to enjoy.

BRUSHY CREEK SPORTS PARK
On track to start construction in summer of 2024, the Brushy Creek Lake Park is set to undergo artificial turf installation and parking lot expansion. This project will remove the natural turf soccer/football fields and replace them with new state of the art artificial turf. Included with this project is parking lot expansion with the addition of over 100 new parking spaces. We look forward to providing all parks patrons and sports enthusiasts with new and state-of-the-art playing surfaces.
2024 PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN
The Cedar Park Parks & Recreation team is currently developing a new 2024 Parks & Recreation Master Plan. This plan will provide priority recommendations for future park and facility development/redevelopment and current/future community events and programs. As a part of this process, several public engagement sessions will be offered for the public to provide feedback. Information on the two initial sessions can be found above.
In addition to these public meetings, a dedicated master plan website is in development that will provide several additional options for public feedback. More information about the website will be available soon. Visit cedarparktexas.gov/parksmasterplan for more information.
