Extreme Sports Incentive

The incentive to several sport modalities in Jundiaí is always a constant. In 2010, the county invested in extreme sports. One of the highlighted events that set the standards for this new trend was the “Virada Jovem do Interior Paulista” (São Paulo Countryside Youth Games).

The event sponsored by Jundiaí City Hall, through the county’s Youth Advisory nad other secretariats, follows the model set by “Virada Cultural Paulista” (São Paulo Cultural Event).

The first edition was held with the presence of a large audience. In every corner of the city, diversified artistic performances for all tastes were held, besides music shows, expositions and interactive activities.

Extreme Festival

The José Brenna Sport Complex, located on the Sororoca neighborhood was the stage for the Jundiaí Extreme Festival.

The event gathered skaters, cyclists and rollerblade skaters, gathering a wide variety of enthusiasts for these extreme modalities. Targeted for athletes up to 17 years old, the Festival attracted 1,2 thousand people.

The top finishers received trophies and medals. The first place on the Skate Category was Renato Barros Soares, on the Bike Category Vinícius Portela and on the Rollerblade Category, Wesley.

Second Half Program

Product of a partnership between the Jundiaí City Hall and the Sports Ministry, the Second Half Program has already attracted several kids and adolescents for before or after school activities.

The Program was installed in the county in 2009. Since then, participants aging from 7 to 17 regularly attend leisure and sport activities, at Jundiaí Sporting Centers.

The sport modalities available for the students are: artistic and rhythmic gymnastics , athletics, swimming, basketball, handball, soccer, tennis, karate, judo, taekwondo and capoeira.

At the end of all activities, students receive a snack to recharge the batteries. The people responsible for monitoring the students in the Program are University Undergraduate students enrolled in Physical Education and Pedagogy Courses, which perform the work under the supervision of coordinators.
