Many of the industries located in the county continuously invest to expand its units. By doing so, the city generates income and jobs for the population. In 2010, the city ranked first place in County Development by Firjan Index for all Brazilian counties, with more than three-hundred thousand inhabitants. The areas that served as base for the index results were: education, health, employment and income.
County Population Qualification
One of the factors that directly contribute for the development of Jundiaí is the population’s qualified labor.
The city hall invests in the professional education sector and guarantees, to the companies that are already installed or that will be installed in the county, qualified workers for the most varied positions. Amongst the responsible for such education are FATEC, ETEC, SENAI, SENAC, as well as colleges and free professionalizing courses, which train qualified professionals for the industries at Jundiaí every year.
Agriculture in Focus
Agriculture in Jundiaí in 2010 had a major prominent role. Incentives for the sector surpassed the forecasted growth expectations. The support given by the city hall to agriculture, via the Supply and Agriculture Secretary, was crucial for the development of the rural areas.
Through producer training seminars and technical visits to agricultural production locations, the agribusiness had a major leap in production and trade of its goods. This remarkable representativeness of the sector is the consequence of a serious policy adopted by the county to give incentives to rural works and valorization of the agricultural production.
The programs developed by the Secretary are: Soil Fertility Monitoring Program, Labor Training Program, Clean Fields Program and Health on the Field Program. All programs aim at improving production quality, as well as improving the producer’s qualification and orientation as to the use of pesticides.
The Supply and Agriculture Secretary in Jundiaí established partnerships with a few county organizations to create such Programs. Today, the producer has incentives and support from soil preparation to planting, disposal of pesticides packaging up to the commercialization of products.
