he has compassion on all he has made. 10 All your works praise you, LORD; your faithful people extol you. 11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, 12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. — Psalm 145:3-13 Confession of Sin (In Unison) Lord, you have called us into an intimate and secure relationship as your sons and daughters. You have called us this morning to worship you. We gladly gather! As we bow before you, though, our own inadequacy reminds us of how we have run and hidden from you this week and even this day. Find us and renew us, we pray, according to your unfailing love.

Series: Parenting and Grandparenting with Faith, Hope and Love Message: Bring them up 26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” — Genesis 1:27-28 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother” —which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. — Ephesians 6:1-4 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,— Ephesians 4:15 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. — Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Communion “This table is a weekly exhortation not to trust in princes, but in our heavenly Father, who answers when we ask, who gives when we seek, who opens when we knock, who feeds the hungry and gives drink to the thirsty.” —Peter Leithart

Communion or the Lord’s Supper, is the family meal of Christians. We invite all followers of Jesus Christ to participate. If you are not a follower of Jesus or are not prepared to share in the meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. We hope this time is helpful to you as you consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and with his people, the church. Guidance for communion: We practice communion by coming forward and receiving the elements. Whenever you are ready you may come forward receive a piece of bread from the loaf and dip into the white chalice which is wine or the green chalice which is grape juice. If for any reason you are not able to come forward our servers will come back to you. Simply raise your hand and they will be glad to serve you. Members of our mercy team available to pray with you or for you during this time. They are towards the front on the right hand side of the sanctuary.

Prayer for Truth Jesus, you claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following you as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open to me the reality of who you are. Give me an understanding of you that is coherent, convincing, and that leads to the life that you promise. Amen. Prayer of Belief Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful that I ever before believed, but through you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment on the cross, and offering forgiveness and new life. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sin and receive you as Savior and Lord. Amen. Prayer for those Struggling with Sin Lord Jesus, grant that I may see in you the fulfillment of all my needs, and my turn from every false satisfaction to feed on you, the true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside the sin that clings so closely, and run with perseverance the race set before me, looking to you, the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Amen.

Our Purpose:

Together, Living Out the Gospel in the Heart of the City.

Seven Core Values Gospel The gospel is the good news that in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, God by grace rescues and draws men and women into fellowship with himself and with one another. Through the gospel all creation is restored so that we will enjoy this fellowship forever. Through the gospel God’s Kingdom has come and is coming. Therefore we are committed to a life together that is permeated with expectant, enduring, joyful hope.

Bible The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are God’s inspired, authoritative revelation. All of the scriptures present Christ and the gospel to draw us to worship and make Him known. We are committed to being a learning community, diligently studying all of the scriptures and allowing God to transform all of life.

Worshipful In response to the good news of the gospel, we worship God as King and Jesus as Savior and Lord in all of our daily activity. This culminates in coming together on Sunday — gathered, renewed and sent out by the Holy Spirit.

Prayerful We regularly and expectantly engage in coversation with God, both personally and as a group. We are committed to complete dependence on God in prayer for all of our life and mission together.

Missional The Bible is about the mission of God – bringing love, peace and justice to a broken world through the work of Christ. Therefore “missions” is way more than a church department but rather what God and life is all about. We are committed to calling individuals to respond to the gospel in repentance, faith and conversion. We are committed to pointing individuals both locally and globally to Christ by acts of justice and mercy. We use all the gifts and talents given to the church and seek to partner with other like-minded congregations and ministries.

International/Inter-Generational The gospel is best expressed and demonstrated through a diverse community who believe, embrace and practice it together. We are committed to ethnic groups, families and generations worshipping and serving together.

Hospitable Hospitality is a response of love and gratitude for God’s love and welcome to us. As individuals and a church family we are committed to the gracious opening of our hearts, homes and lives to others, especially the needy and strangers.
