Shopping for a Home Shopping for your home & making an offer After you get all of the prep work out of the way, now comes the best part. Shopping for your new home. You realtor will send you homes that meet the criteria in your “must-haves” list and will set up showing times for your to view the homes in person before making an offer. Besides setting up showings through your realtor, you can also visit open houses in your desired location to check out other properties.

Making an Offer Once you’ve found your dream home, it’s time to make an offer. You’ll work with your realtor to write the offer and this will be the time to negotiate the price and contingencies (i.e. passing inspection) to your offer. Your realtor will send the offer to the sellers and they will accept the offer, send you a counteroffer, or decline the offer.
