Choosing a Realtor

Before you start to look at houses, you’ll want to find a realtor and make a list of your musthaves for your dream home. This will help you narrow your search and only look at homes that fit your criteria and meet your needs.

Most buyers choose to work with a realtor to guide them through the home buying process because buying a home is a big financial investment. Your realtor will help you set up home tours, negotiate with sellers, and will serve as your home buying expert. The buyer often pays real estate agents on commission, which is usually 2-6% of the home sale price.

If you are looking for a realtor, we recommend you interview at least three real estate agents to find someone who is knowledgeable about the home buying process and makes you feel comfortable. Another way to find a great agent is through a referral if you have friends or family that have recently purchased a home.

Remember – your realtor works for you! It’s okay to switch relators if it’s not the right match.
