Del 14 al 16 de septiembre de 2023, representantes de la industria, altos cargos de empresas especializados en tabaco, mayoristas, distribuidores generales y empresas de servicios, así como los principales compradores y el personal central de compras de los detallistas, se encontraron de nuevo en Messe Dortmund del 14 al 16 de septiembre de 2023, procedentes

de toda Alemania y de mucho más allá, bajo el lema ‘Juntos por el mañana’.

INTERTABAC, la feria comercial de productos de tabaco y accesorios para fumar más grande del mundo, e INTERSUPPLY, la feria internacional de los procesos de fabricación detrás de productos de tabaco, cigarrillos electrónicos, pipas y narguiles, regresaron con

Más de 680 expositores en 10 salas de exposición Las ferias gemelas de este año atrajeron a más de 680 expositores de un total de 60 países. Los pabellones 4, 5 y 7 se concentraron en lo último del segmento clásico, incluyendo cigarros cuidadosamente seleccionados de fábricas de producción familiar, así como ediciones limitadas, diseños de

alta calidad para los amantes de las pipas, cigarrillos, tabaco para pipa y corte fino. “Una vez más, numerosos visitantes del sector minorista tradicional aprovecharon la oportunidad para establecer contactos y reunir nuevas ideas para presentar sus ofertas”, dijo Sabine Loos, organizadora principal de la feria y directora general de Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe.

Los productos de próxima generación (NGP) volvieron a ocupar un lugar destacado en varios pabellones. Los NGP, cuya popularidad según los informes recientes de la industria están creciendo constantemente, incluyen productos que no se queman, todo lo relacionado con el vapeo, los cigarrillos electrónicos y los líquidos electrónicos, así como productos potencialmente

La satisfacción de expositores y visitantes vuelve a aumentar De hecho, más del 94% de los expositores de InterTabac ya pudieron decir que quieren volver a participar en la feria. Esta

asombrosa cifra es otra mejora con respecto a 2019 y 2022. La satisfacción de las empresas con su asistencia a InterSupply también aumentó este año, y casi el 92 % de los expositores ya tienen planes de regresar la próxima vez. Los visitantes profesionales de las ferias gemelas también expresaron opiniones muy favorables: alrededor del 92% (un tres por ciento más que el año pasado) desea volver el año que viene.

Las ferias gemelas dan la bienvenida a nuevos socios y asociaciones

La importancia de InterTabac e InterSupply también se ve subrayada por la diversidad de asociaciones y socios involucrados, que una vez más contribuyeron al éxito de las ferias de este año. Por primera vez participó como socio la Asociación Alemana del Tabaco para Shisha, que proporcionó asesoramiento especializado en el programa en el área temática de shisha. Este año, InterSupply logró integrar a la Asociación

Internacional de Productores de Tabaco (ITGA) como nueva organización de apoyo, así como establecer una nueva asociación con el Campeonato Mundial de Fumar Cigarros (CSWC). “Los participantes internacionales, la presencia de las asociaciones industriales y la amplia red de socios demuestran que en 2023 la feria de Dortmund volvió a ser la ventanilla única para toda la industria tabacalera”, concluyó Sabine Loos.

From across Germany and well beyond, industry representatives, top decision-makers at specialist tobacco retailers, wholesalers, general retailers and service businesses, and chief buyers and central purchasing staff from food retailers convened again at Messe Dortmund between 14 and 16 September 2023 under the banner ‘Together for Tomorrow’.

InterTabac, the world’s largest trade show for tobacco products and smoking accessories, and InterSupply, the international trade show for the manufacturing processes behind tobacco

products, e-cigarettes, pipes and hookahs, returned in strength this year, re-gaining their pre-Covid levels. An extensive programme featuring a mix of talks, discussion panels and accompanying events provided an extended overview of the latest topics, challenges, trends and innovations.

Over 680 exhibitors across 10 exhibition halls This year’s twin shows attracted over 680 exhibitors from a total of 60 nations. Halls 4, 5 and 7 concentrated on the latest in the classic segment, including hand-picked cigars from

family-run hand-made production facilities as well as limited editions, high-quality designs for pipe lovers, cigarettes, pipe tobacco and fine cut. “Once again, numerous visitors from the traditional retail sector took the opportunity to network with each other and gather new ideas for presenting their ranges,” said Sabine Loos, chief show organizer and Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe.

This year, InterSupply succeeded in acquiring the International Tobacco Growers’ Association (ITGA) as a new support organization as well as entering into a new partnership with the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC).

“The international participants, the presence of the industry associations and the broad partnership network all show that the Dortmund shows were once again the one-stop shop for the entire tobacco industry in 2023,” concluded Sabine Loos.

The InterTabac & InterSupply Press Conference took place 14 September 2023, at 11:00 hrs in the London/Bruges Conference Room at the North Entrance to Messe Dortmund.

On the occasion of the opening of the leading trade fair InterTabac 2023 in Dortmund, representatives of the tobacco products and novel nicotine products in-dustry called for a policy that shows more trust and respect for responsible, adult consumers, strengthens the protection of minors in a targeted manner and more decisively takes into account the concer-ns of the companies and employees of a diverse industry.

Far-reaching advertising bans, tax increases, bans on flavourings - manu-facturers, retailers and also consumers of tobacco products, e-cigarettes and other nicotine products have recently had to adjust to a multitude of new regula-tions and restrictions in Germany. The EU Commission in Brussels is preparing amendments to the EU Tobacco Tax Directive and the EU Tobacco Products Directive, which threaten to tighten the rules even further.

De los 680 expositores procedentes de 60 países que participaron este 2023 en la feria profesional InterTabac, una gran parte procedía de República Dominicana, mostrando sus productos en los pabellones 4, 5 y 7, donde minoristas, distribuidores, compradores se concentraron para conocer sus ofertas del segmento clásico, incluyendo cigarros cuidadosamente seleccionados de fábricas de producción familiar, así como ediciones limitadas, diseños de alta calidad y los nuevos lanzamientos de cigarros.

Este año, por primera vez, el Centro de Exportación e Inversión de la República Dominicana (ProDominicana) tuvo un módulo para mostrar la oferta exportable dominicana en materia de cigarros premium, en la que también acogió a productores nóveles del país.

Por su parte, PROCIGAR, socio de la feria InterTabac, tuvo un amplio módulo principalmente dedicado a promocionar su próximo evento en República Dominicana, el Festival PROCIGAR 2024, que tendrá lugar del 18 al 23 de febrero.

Los expositores y compradores de República Dominicana quedaron muy satisfechos con la feria 2023, durante la cual hicieron importantes negocios.

A large part of the 680 exhibitors from 60 countries which participated at the 2023 InterTabac professional fair came from the Dominican Republic, showing their products in pavilions 4, 5 and 7, where retailers, distributors, buyers gathered to learn about their offers from the classic segment, including carefully selected cigars from family-owned factories, as well as limited editions, high-quality designs and new cigar releases.

This year, for the first time, the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) had a booth to show the Dominican exportable offer in terms of premium cigars, in which it also welcomed new producers from the country.

As for PROCIGAR, partner of the InterTabac fair, had a big booth mainly to promote its next event in the Dominican Republic, the 2024 PROCIGAR Festival which will celebrated from February 18-23.

Exhibitors and buyers from the Dominican Republic were very satisfied with the 2023 fair, during which they did important business.

Los pabellones 4, 5 y 7 se centraron en las novedades del segmento clásico. La combinación de una amplia gama de información, oportunidades para establecer contactos y la oportunidad de probar nuevos productos en el lugar hizo que InterTabac fuera verdaderamente único y atrajo a una gran cantidad de visitantes de todo el mundo. Entre ellos se encontraban representantes de renombre del sector minorista, mayorista y de producción, así como destacados jefes de compras de todo el sector minorista alemán, así como representantes oficiales de países como Honduras, Panamá, República Dominicana, Indonesia y Cuba, cuyos embajadores y delegaciones visitaban la feria.

Halls 4, 5 and 7 concentrated on the latest in the classic segment. The mix of a broad range of information, networking opportunities and the chance to try out new products at the venue made InterTabac truly unique and drew in a host of visitors from all over the world.

Among them were well-known representatives from the retail, wholesale and production sectors as well as leading purchasing managers from across the German retailing sector as well as official representatives from countries such as Honduras, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia and Cuba whose ambassadors and delegations were visiting the fair.

A great number of industry experts offered their condensed expertise in keynote talks, discussion panels and master classes addressing current matters of interest.

Offerings in the classic segment included popular events such as the Cigar Pairings and Cigar Blending where people could smoke, try products out and even create their own on all three days of the show. The pairings combined international premium rum brands and premium cigars to create stimulating taste sensations.

Es sábado por la tarde y la feria ha llegado a su fin. Al salir del recinto ferial descubrimos en el cielo una tímida puesta de sol otoñal, que captamos con nuestro lente. El día está es su ocaso y nos genera un poco de tristeza al relacionarlo con el final de unos días maravillosos en los que compartimos con nuestros clientes y amigos.

Reflexionamos que estos han sido tres grandiosos días de muchos contactos de negocios, relaciones con nuevas empresas, encuentros con viejas amistades del sector y nos queda la satisfacción del trabajo bien hecho y de las gratas atenciones recibidas por todo el personal del grupo Westfalenhallen, por lo que nos llena de esperanza el pensar que no es un final, sino un hasta luego que como el sol, volverá a salir, aunque en este caso será el año que viene.

Ya contamos los días para regresar a Dortmund, la cita ya está en el calendario; nos vemos del 19 al 21 de septiembre del 2024.

It is Saturday afternoon and the fair has come to the end. As we left the fairgrounds we discovered a shy autumn sunset in the sky, which we captured with our lens. Is the twilight of the day and it makes us a little sad when we relate it to the end of some wonderful days in which we share with our clients and friends.

We reflect that these have been three wonderful days of many business contacts, relationships with new companies, meetings with the industry’s old friends and we are

left with the satisfaction of a welldone job and the pleasant attention received by all the Westfalenhallen group staff, so it fills us with hope to think that it is not an end, but a a new start that, like the sun, will rise again, although in this case it will be next year.

We are already counting the days to return to Dortmund, the appointment is already on the calendar; see you from September 19 to 21, 2024.
