PURPOSE TO SERVE

What is it?

What’s my calling on Earth?

When I die What do I want to be remembered by?

What legacy do I want to leave behind?

What do I want my dash between to mean?

Here lies Laron Henderson who was…….

I tried a multitude of things to discover it What's my future version of me?

How can I uncover my greatness?

What lessons can I pass on to the next generation?

I just can’t put my finger on it What’s this burning desire that lingers?

I tried it all from college to network marketing! I can’t find my purpose!

Surrounded me with role models and mentors! Started reading self-help motivational books!

Listening to inspirational speakers From Napoleon Hill's “Think And Grow Rich” to Eric Thomas’ speeches!

Then I finally got the message!

My purpose is to serve!

It’s not about riches, glamour, and fame!

It’s to help others gain Help others grow, I will do so too!

That’s how I can reach others, that’s how I can serve!

Treat everyone like a friend, a family member Like a brother, a sister!

It’s not about the product or service Nor the accumulation of wealth It’s to help fellow man or woman How can I reach them? What problem can I solve?

On what specific issue can I provide guidance?

How will I serve?

Took out a pen a paper Journaled my own thoughts and struggles Little did I know I was given a special gift Then it hit me!

This is it, this is it!

How I’m going to help others uplift their spirit My true calling, my true purpose!

That’s how I’m going to serve!

I noticed my words have a poetic flow Learned more about word play Joined Toastmasters to read my poetry, Getting feedback on how they were inspired by my speeches

That’s how I’m going to reach people!

I know others have been in similar situations!

I can create poetry to serve!

When someone reads my pieces They can be inspired Motivated in life!

If so, my purpose has been served!

You never know who needs an encouraging word or two! You never know what someone is going through!

Heart could’ve been broken Shattered into a million pieces!

Mind melted from mental and physical abuse!

My words can help heal Past heartaches, past pain!

Maybe reveal their true calling in life Like they did for me!

Help my reader feel a sense of pride and self esteem

A sense of purpose for their own being Help them see something in themselves they have never seen!

Spark the brain that changes the world!

Life is short We all need to understand we have a purpose to serve Lend a helping hand to a friend in need!

Show support in them reaching their goals and dreams We all can achieve greatness!

Never too young to start Never too old to finish!

The flame may have diminished My words can spark it back up!

Let’s dig down deep inside!

Let’s discover our purpose to serve!
