Celebration of Achievement 2023

presented by

A Note from CHRIS 180

Everyone has reached a goal in their life – some small and some big. Maybe it was a goal you set and worked towards for years. Or perhaps your achievement came much faster than you anticipated. That goal, that purpose, is something that we can all share and celebrate. While it may have been challenging, completing it made you feel like you were your own superhero – untouchable and unstoppable. You did it!

It’s important to acknowledge our goals and even more important to celebrate them. Times when we’ve asked for and accepted help; when we worked really hard towards our goals; when we are the heroes in our own story. At CHRIS 180, we believe celebrating the achievements of our youth is crucial.

No matter how they engage with us, CHRIS 180 is there for each person we serve to provide trauma-informed care and support to help them heal. From young adults moving into their first home after experiencing homelessness to students receiving school-based mental health resources to teens learning how to prevent violence in their neighborhood, we are proud of these superheroes. They have achieved what once felt impossible. They went back to school, got a job, learned to manage their feelings and so much more. We are proud to be these CHRIS 180 superheroes’ sidekicks along with the community of supporters. That’s you!

At the end of the school year, we invite our youth to reflect and share what accomplishments they are most proud of from this past year. Then, we come together for a Celebration of Achievement to recognize their successes, the reaching of their goals and the moments when they were their own superhero.

Within the pages of this book, you will read their heroic moments in their own handwriting. These moments of strength, resilience and determination deserve to be commemorated. These are the moments that we as the CHRIS 180 community are so proud of.

Thank you for being a part of their celebration and for valuing the work our youth do each day with CHRIS 180. Every child has a bright future ahead of them and we cannot wait to see where their journey takes them next.
