Highfield & Brookham Schools, Hampshire Pupils at the Liphook independent schools have vowed to fight climate change. Ahead of last year’s COP26 conference, where world leaders gathered to find ways to reverse the environmental challenges facing our planet, Highfield & Brookham’s youngsters had set in motion a chain of events to make a positive impact. From nursery up to year eight, classes made mobiles made from biodegradable string and large leaves, upon which ‘promises of hope’ for a greener world were written. Featuring heartfelt vows such as ditching plastic bags, eating less meat, recycling more and planting more trees, the completed constructions took pride of place on Highfield grounds’ Princess Anne oak tree, before being shipped to the conference in Glasgow.
