In my packaging, I wanted to include as much reference to the desserto material as possible. I experimented with using offcuts from making prototypes as a pull tab. This would give the user direct contact with the material whilst not increasing the cost of the packaging by recycling scraps. I also explored different ways of using graphics to my advantage. I wanted the product packaging to be interesting to look at from all sides, however not overly busy. I felt that a portrait orientation was different to other packaging, and would stand out. I also considered how it would look at a stacked product if it was to be sold on a shelf. I used the sides of the box to display the tagline on one side, and the logo on the other side. In order to protect my packaging in the post, I would use a cheap jiffy bag. This would both add a layer of padding as well as a large area to affix a label and stamp.
