I initially created the money clip in fusion without a bottle opener cut-out. I strengthened one side of the clip, which was the part that I then used a scanner in order to get a dimensionally accurate jpeg of a bottle opener I own. From this I used illustrator to create a vector outline, then used imported this into fusion as a SVG file. From this, I cut out a slot on the back of the clip that would slot into my hinge tab. I then sent off this version to be prototyped by HP. However, I made a glaring error in this, where I didn’t consider the orientation of the slot on the hinge tab. This means that the design I sent to be prototyped would not slot in correctly, and be facing the wrong way when slotted in in the original manner. I corrected my mistake for the final print version by mirroring both the bottle opener and the cut out slot on the back.
