Prototypes of ideas 1 and 4

I prototyped ideas 1 and 4 in the same way as 3 and 5. Like the others, I tested them with a focus group of peers outside in a socially distanced scenario. I found that idea 1 was the most like wallets I had used before, as was backed up by my focus group. It was said for this wallet design to stand out, it would need to be made to a very high standard with the material being the unique selling point rather than the wallet design itself. I agreed with this statement, and if anything would apply it to all but the 3D printed hinge wallet from my initial ideas. Users seemed to like my 4th idea, especially the tactility of the integrated money clip. The outside facing card slots were a contentious issue, with some users liking the ease of access for frequently used cards such as a bank card, with others thinking it would not be secure enough for important documents such as a driving licence. From this initial round of testing I concluded that my design would need a stand out feature, or some piece of unique design to complement the high-end material I am planning to make it out of.
