Monthly Report for March Dear friends and donors, Charity organization Serbs for Serb Serbs registered in the state of Illinois in United States in Jun 2010 by the group of the Serbian youth. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is a 501(c)(3) notfor-profit charitable organization. Donation is tax-deductible deductible to the extent followed by the law. On 30th September, 2011 we finally got the letter from department of the treasury (IRS) with tax exempt 501(c)3 approval. All donations to our organization donated from June 16, 2010 are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers of gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.

About Us The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans, Serbs and their friends through planned projects, social and humanitarian activities in order to develop and foster better society for future generations and provide aid for underprivileged families in need. Although there are many humanitarian organizations and associations, help often doesn't reach the most jeopardized. Due too unnecessary administration, missing information and slow decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late to the final consumers, or not at all. It is a sad and embarrassing, but true fact that more than 18.000 children daily die around the world be because of starvation and malnutrition. ion. There, among us, the blind and deaf. We are witnesses of the bad demographic situation of our nation, decreasing natality, increasing number of singles, abortions, accelerated aging of

www.serbsforserbs.org 2012 the population and generally bad economic condition of the households in Serbia, Republic of Srpska and other countries in the Balkan. An average couple has "fallen" on one child. Analysts warn that Serbs will become a minority in its own country in the following century if the nation, individuals and government don't wake up from the nescient in which they've fallen! On the other hand, nobody is talking about the families with many children which grieve by living in bitter poverty. Occupied by their everyday struggle for survival, they are being humbly in their desire for implementing rights which belong to them. Their life stories, fears and problems are identical, but almost invisible and unheard in order to gain the attention of the public, media and even state. That's why the idea of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs arose. The organization rganization was formed by a group gr of young and trustful people, who are united by the common vision of helping families blessed by many children and who are aware of the fact that even a small help means a lot for those who don't live in a material excess. We are united by the humane idea to help the poorest part of the Serbian nation. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs try to revive the spiritless energy of the Serbian Diaspora which would be able to reinforce people of Serbian heritage as well as all good people throughout the world ld with minimal, but bu constant monthly donations. We hope and believe that there is also a grain of doing good and that you will join us in the endless e struggle against poverty. God bless and save all Serbian families with many children and our honored donors who participate in the noble effort to return smile on children faces.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2012 • our donors are satisfied with the activities and they are ready to help other families; • our organization is satisfied with the results; • family is ready in the future to become our donor and if necessary help other families that are in need of help.

Ambitions

Our mission The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop better society for future generations. Why Serbs for Serbs? We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian people in togetherness and brotherhood help through humanitarian work and social aid.

Who do we need in organization? We need members and donors that will secure financial stability through supporting our programs and activities in the future. Donors may join our daily activities within the organization in order to coordinate our work better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several hours per week for actual work within the organization. Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would be determined by the required projects and their personal interest. From that group of volunteers we would look for future leaders of organization.

Who do we help? We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have five or more children and live in terrible poverty. How do we define “terrible poverty”? Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or more basic factors required for living: food, clothes, shoes, and safe space for living. Why do we help? We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By focusing our help on families with many children, we directly affect on their stirring toward becoming independent from socialdependable government programs. Indirectly, we want to affect on birth rate of Serbian people that has been in great decline in last 20 years. What are our long term goals? • family is ready to support itself daily and manage to pay all required expenses and bills; • their children are encouraged to continue with school and raising their own family;

Monthly Report for March VISITING THE SPASIĆ BABIES

The representatives of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from Niš visited on Saturday 10 March family Spasić. About eight months ago the family got triplets Lena, Petra and Tara. The girls were born two months prior to the term, so they needed to spend some time in the incubators. Their development takes a normal flow now, and the parents are busy taking care of the babies.

Unlike major cities, in which the couples with triplets receive monthly financial help, that is not the case in Leskovac. Therefore, family Spasić finds it difficult to provide elementary things for the babies. Our organization has decided to help the Spasić family by buying the milk and diapers in the amount of 24,724 dinars.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2012 INFANT CARRIER FOR SNEŽANA SAVIĆ

The Charity organization Serbs for Serbs presented a humble donation, an infant carrier, for the baby of Danijela Savić, who gave birth a few days ago in Belgrade. Danijela has a sad story, because she suffered a revenge from the uck terrorists in her hometown of Peć, when the terrorists killed her family, and also stabbed Danijela and killed her unborn child. With the help from God, Danijela, who has great problems with her heart and the thyroid gland, gave birth to Snežana. We hope that Snežana won't have to suffer from new slaughters and killings.

Despite the fact Danijela's husband is employed, this family has great expenses due to Danijela's treatment, and now they need additional money for the baby. Therefore, we call upon all the donors and people of good will to help Danijela and her family.

SFS HELPED FAMILY LONČAR

We bought the groceries in the amount of 165 KM, and left, because we didn't want to disturb Miroslav. It's almost two years since our last visit to family Lončar from Mokro-Pale. In the meantime, they managed to increase the flock of sheep, get the pigs, and thanks to a good man, who bought them a cow, they have milk for the children.

The Lončar family thanks everyone for help, and especially our donors who enable us to work and help to those who don't have anyone to turn to, and to whom we are the only hope.

Father Miroslav, a refugee from Krajina, takes any job. He often brings firewood with his horse, for the sawmills or for his neighbors. The oldest son Njegoš (1988) works in private sawmills, because he can't find another job. However, neither him nor his father can earn anything during the winter, which has lasted long this year. The family has no income since the daughter Gordana (1996) turned 15, and thus lost the child benefit, so Miroslav tried to bring the firewood from the forest. Unfortunately, the wood fell on him and broke his leg on 3 spots. Milojka now has to worry how to enable her husband to finance the treatment. The sheep started to die, so she had to hire a vet in order to save the rest of the flock. They didn't have food, so Milojka asked for our help in order to feed the children. We used the donation from the municipality of Pale in the amount of 167 KM to buy the food for the Lončar family, and help them to get through the rest of the winter and overcome the troubles. During our visit we found Njegoš and the youngest Mihajlo (2007). Nemanja (1994) and Gordana were at school in Lukavica, 30 km away from Mokro. They leave the house early in the morning and come back at night, without any money or the possibility to buy something to eat during the day. Jovana (2002) and Jovica (2000) are the pupils of the elementary school in Mokro, and although they arrived during our visit, they were ashamed to take a photo.

Monthly Report for March TOGETHER FOR FAMILY MIHAJLOVIĆ

www.serbsforserbs.org 2012 defending the endangered Serbian people. His destiny remains uncertain, the rent is about to expire in a month, and his wife and children live in agony every day. That was the reason why our organization decided to urgently help in the project of building a house, so that at least one room might function as soon as possible.

On Saturday, March 17 2012, our organization joined the great project of the building a house for the seven-member family Mihajlović from Ugljevik in the Republic of Srpska, initiated by our fraternal organization Nemanjići-Tićino several months ago. The representatives of both organizations visited the family Mihajlović, and paid for the continuance of building. In this phase of the project we bought the material for the floor and putting the plate in the amount of about 2,000 EUR. Our organization donated 400 EUR. We brought a package of toys for the youngest, and several books for their parents, while Nemanjići provided a package of sweets and clothes for the youngest. The family Mihajlović consists of the parents Nenad and Renata and their five minor children: Nemanja (11), Željana (6), Jovana (4) and twins Srñan and Dajana (5 months old). It is very important to mention than Nenad is a former member of one of the most famous units of the Army of Republic of Srpska. The family lived in barracks for the refugees until a few months ago, when upon the decision of the authorities, the barracks were crashed down, and the families left. The family Mihajlović, like the rest of families, received the money to pay a rented apartment in the period of 6 months. After the termination of that period, family Mihajlović will be left on its own, unless they provide the means to continue renting the apartment in which they are currently located. The family has no income, and Nenad used to provide the money by occasional jobs. Therefore, our brothers from Nemanjići-Tićino decided to build them a house. However, a few weeks ago, Nenad was taken to custody for interrogation due to his involvement in the homeland war, in which he was Charity organization Serbs for Serbs www.serbsforserbs.org PO Box 34206, Chicago, IL 60634 Phone: +1-312-85-SERBS

www.serbsforserbs.org 2012 The next phase of acquiring the material is planned for May, and our organization will try to participate even more in this noble project, so that we could all, at least partly, repay to Nenad for his contribution in the defense of the Serbian people.

Approximately 5,000 EUR was invested in the house so far (plus the additional 2,000 EUR in this action), and for the completion of the house we need about 8,000 EUR more. The house is planned to have 100m2, the ground floor and another floor. The house will have 4 rooms, the kitchen and a bathroom. The next phase of the project is setting the panel and finishing the inner rooms. Until he was taken to custody, Nenad was responsible for the works on the house with his numerous friends, who will continue with the works until he is released.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2012 apartment or buy a house in a village. After we left humble help for them, we continued to Valjevo.

Members of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited two families from Barajevo and Valjevo – family Cvijić with four children and family Trifunović with five children. Our friends who called us to visit the families, donated packages with wardrobe, hygiene and toys, and we used the opportunity to assess the problems of these families, and make an agreement for possible help. The action was organized by our friends Milana and Mia, who were provoked by the attempt of taking away the children of the family Trifunović by the Center for Social Work. Milana and Mia decided to visit the family, bring them a humble help and see for themselves the conditions in which the family lives, and the problems it's facing. Two of our representatives joined the action, although we didn't know Milana and Mia before, nor were the two of them acquainted. The small team first visited family Cvijić. The family consists of the single mother and her four children Anastasija (12), Anñela (10), Jelisaveta (3) and Vojin (1). They live in very bad conditions in the rented apartment in what is practically a basement of a building. In 2008. Anastasija's and Anñela's father died, and their mother lost her job. Last year, Jelisaveta's and Vojin's father also died, and the family got into a bad situation. They need to provide 100 EUR for the rented apartment each month, and their income consists of the child benefit in the amount of 9,800 dinars, social help in the amount of 6,000 dinars and the pension in the amount of 6,000 dinars. The moisture in the apartment forces them to find another place to live. They should rent another

Family Trifunović consists of father Milan, mother and their children Nikolina (12), Krstivoje (9), Bojana (6), Ivana (4) and Milica (3). The family has went through a drama recently, due to the threat of taking away their children. The representatives of the Center for Social Work claim that the children grow in unsuitable conditions, and they wanted to take the children away. After that the neighbors were assembled, and the media showed as well. The Center issued a decision not to take the children away, if certain conditions are met. The conditions were given to the parents in writing, and they include hygiene, regular food, relation towards the children... Our impression was that the conditions in which they live are quite decent, especially if compared with the

They asked us to get them the beds for the rooms once they are built, a refrigerator which they now don't have, a new washing machine, hanging kitchen elements and clothing and footwear for the children. Our organization will try to provide them some of the things we mentioned. The family has 8,000 dinars of child benefit and 16,000 dinars of father's salary. He works in the school, but he manages to find additional job as well. After we left our humble help, we returned to Belgrade.

During the return we shared ideas with our new acquaintances, and agree the future cooperation. We hope that more reliable and responsible young people will organize themselves instead of waiting for someone else to resolve all the problems our people are facing. The municipality promised to get the material for several rooms on the floor and a roof, and perhaps the isolation

BOOKS FOR CULTURAL CENTER IN KUČEVIŠTE

SFS HELPED THE SCHOOL LIBRARY IN DONJA TREPCA

Charity organization Serbs for Serbs helped the work of the Serbian cultural center Vuk Karadžić from Kučevište (Old Serbia) with the package of books. The aim of this support/help is to strengthen the relations of the Serbian people from that area with their homeland. Above all, the Serbian children and the other inhabitants of Kučevište and the surrounding will have the opportunity to read significant number of books in the Serbian language, considering Serbian history, culture, literature and orthodox christianity.

During March we completed the micro project of equiping the school library in Donja Trepča. This project, initiated several months ago, was realized by the friends of the organization after the request for the donation in books, made by the pupils and a librarian of the local school. In the first phase we gathered the books for the school library. After that, we continued with equiping the library with the computer elements, in order to modernize the library. The last phase consisted of the donations of the books for elderly population, which corresponds with the aim of the school library to become the library of the local character, which would be opened to everyone. The result of the endeavour of our friends which lasted for several months is as follows: over 500 books, mostly school books, child books, textbooks, dictionaries, grammars, and books on French and English, which the children have the opportunity to learn.

We belive that this action will contribute to the greater development of the national consciousness of the Serbs from the Old Serbia, and that the younger population will have the opportunity to raise the knowledge of the Serbian language to the higher level. This help marks the beginning of the serious cooperation of the cultural center Vuk Karadžić and our organization, and we hope that the cooperation will be spread to charity area.

The donation in technical equipment consists of: dvd reader, several discs with educational and entertainment content, and a programe for running the library. One of the packages contained two keybords, two optical mice and a pair of speakers. We would like to thank the friends of the organization who participated in this action, and especially Mr. Bane for the well conducted project, and send a praise for the self-organization and an example how to help the Serbian children.

CHILDREN FROM KRAJINA VISITING WIENNA

After the preparations that took several months and a canceled arrival due to financial problems, 16 children from Kordun, Krajina, members of the children folklore ensamble SKD Vrginmost, spent several days (from March 2-4) in Wienna, thanks to the selfless engagement of the Church municipality Saint Sava in Wienna, numerous societies (among which the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs and SPDK Prosvjeta), numerous parishioners of the temple of Saint Sava, and the families which co-sponsored the project and hosted the children in their homes.

On Sunday, March 4, the participants of the project gathered in front of the temple of Saint Sava, and we would like to single out again the 10 families that hosted the children from Krajina, and Mr Vladan Radovanović and his family, the owner of the restaurant Gabel&Co, who supported this project, hosted two children, and received the guests in the wonderful milieu of his restaurant. After the cordial goodbye, our guests left to the castle Senbrun, and then to Krajina.

On Friday, March 2, 2012, the church home of the Saint Sava temple organized a welcome to our young guests, attended primarily by the families-hosts. Mrs Borka Galogaža, the secretary of the SKD Vrginmost and Mr Željko Gašić, vice-president of the SPKD Prosvjeta held opening statements. Mrs Vjera Rašković-Zec talked about the history of Krajina, and the destiny of its people, and after the poem From grave to grave on Kordun, people were thrilled and cried. During the evening, Mr Mile Obradović, vice-president of the SKUD Vrginmost presented the custom of proposing to a girl in Kordun. On the next day, the members of the Austrian Prosvjeta took the children to a sightseeing, and late afternoon they went to Fezendorf, where the children from Krajina participated on the 2. Children Festival of Serbian Folklore. The children ensemble of the SKD Vrginmost showed the dance Kordun, and a dance from Vojvodina. We would like to emphasize that the organizer of the manifestation – KUD Stevan Mokranjac – not only helped the children, but also our organization, enabling us to have a free stand during the manifestation, where we could present our work and raise donations. People of good will donated 136 EUR.

In the name of our two fraternal organizations we would like to thank again to the Church municipality Saint Sava, priests and parishioners of the temple of Saint Sava in Wienna, Association of Serbs from Istra, Association of people from Krajina from Pančevo, and the families and individuals without whom this wouldn't be possible, and to emphasize the need for greater coordination of Serbs in diaspora and Serbs in the Serbian land, in opportunities like these, among other things.

Monthly Report for March SERBS FOR SERBS FUNDRAISING EVENT LOS ANGELES – APRIL 21ST June 26, 1991…for most of you that day doesn’t mean much but it brings horrible memories for me. It was right before my 11th birthday when the war in Yugoslavia broke out. Over 140,000 people lost their lives in this fight to defend their integrity, to protect their family and to save their children from what was to come. Additionally, some 2.5 million people were displaced or immigrated. The war tore Yugoslavia into pieces and it did not stop there. Fathers and sons lost their lives on the front lines and mothers and daughter lost each other. In the end children were the one who suffered the most: they accounted for approximately 40% of war victims and those lucky enough to survive had to face the new challenge of growing up in the worst of conditions. The most tragic and innocent of any war’s victims, are undoubtedly the children. Becoming a parent myself made me realize that parents do in fact live their entire life to better their children’s lives. This makes it very difficult to imagine these children growing in the aftermath of war. If all of us together can help at least one more child in need we will make the world a better place. In the honor of those children and their families I am hosting a fundraiser for the charity organization called “Serbs for Serbs" that is benefiting impoverished children and their families.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2012 In the past 7 years SFS was able to help over 200 families, 1000 children and strengthen local organizations with over $273,000 in donations. There are many non-profitable charity organizations all over the world but due to the unnecessary administration, misinformation and slow decision making many children do not receive the help they need. Unlike others, SFS has formed a direct link between donors and families. SFS directly visits families and delivers targeted aid to them. This nonprofit organization does not have political, partisan or religious affiliations. In fact their model is fairly simple. They are extremely transparent and all of their collected and delivered donations are publicized on their website www.serbsforserbs.org. Every donor and donation is listed; every expense backed by receipts and all the information about families and projects is available to everyone. Serbs for Serbs tries to revive the spiritless energy of the 3.5 million Serbs in Diaspora as well as all good people throughout the world with minimal, but constant monthly donations that will provide life-saving supplies for these children. No donation is too small. No love is too big. No child should ever be left behind. They need your help. They need your attention. They need your action. Please RSVP to our Facebook event page “Children are our future fundraiser” or via phone 310-972-1246

Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 7PM (Social Room @ 10560 Wilshire Blvd, LA 90024). Admission ticket is $25 per person (paid at the door by check/cash). Ticket includes hosted bar, great entertainment and silent auction with cool/edgy items. A 100% of net donations collected during this event will benefit impoverished children. All donations are tax deductible and receipts will be provided. Checks should be made to “Serbs for Serbs”. SFS organization works with numerous countries in Europe as well as USA to ensure the well-being of disadvantaged Serbian children all over the region. This organization responds to emergency situations, some of which are beyond the indigenous coping capacity. They ensure the survival, protection, and well-being of significant numbers of children. They help communities, care for war-traumatized children, provide rehabilitation and health care, water and sanitation systems, and most of all empower families to become self-sufficient citizens.
