Monthly Report for August Dear friends and donors, Charity organization Serbs for Serbs registered in the state of Illinois in United States in Jun 2010 by the group of the Serbian youth. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is a 501(c)(3) notfor-profit charitable organization. Donation is tax-deductible to the extent followed by the law. On 30th September, 2011 we finally got the letter from department of the treasury (IRS) with tax exempt 501(c)3 approval. All donations to our organization donated from June 16, 2010 are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers of gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.

About Us The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans, Serbs and their friends through planned projects, social and humanitarian activities in order to develop and foster better society for future generations and provide aid for underprivileged families in need. Although there are many humanitarian organizations and associations, help often doesn't reach the most jeopardized. Due to unnecessary administration, missing information and slow decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late to the final consumers, or not at all. It is a sad and embarrassing, but true fact that more than 18.000 children daily die around the world because of starvation and malnutrition. There, among us, the blind and deaf. We are witnesses of the bad demographic situation of our nation, decreasing natality, increasing number of singles, abortions, accelerated aging of

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 the population and generally bad economic condition of the households in Serbia, Republic of Srpska and other countries in the Balkan. An average couple has "fallen" on one child. Analysts warn that Serbs will become a minority in its own country in the following century if the nation, individuals and government don't wake up from the nescient in which they've fallen! On the other hand, nobody is talking about the families with many children which grieve by living in bitter poverty. Occupied by their everyday struggle for survival, they are being humbly in their desire for implementing rights which belong to them. Their life stories, fears and problems are identical, but almost invisible and unheard in order to gain the attention of the public, media and even state. That's why the idea of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs arose. The organization was formed by a group of young and trustful people, who are united by the common vision of helping families blessed by many children and who are aware of the fact that even a small help means a lot for those who don't live in a material excess. We are united by the humane idea to help the poorest part of the Serbian nation. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs try to revive the spiritless energy of the Serbian Diaspora which would be able to reinforce people of Serbian heritage as well as all good people throughout the world with minimal, but constant monthly donations. We hope and believe that there is also a grain of doing good and that you will join us in the endless struggle against poverty. God bless and save all Serbian families with many children and our honored donors who participate in the noble effort to return smile on children faces.

Monthly Report for August Ambitions

Our mission The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop better society for future generations. Why Serbs for Serbs? We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian people in togetherness and brotherhood help through humanitarian work and social aid. Who do we help? We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have five or more children and live in terrible poverty. Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or more basic factors required for living: food, clothes, shoes, and safe space for living.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Who do we need in organization? We need members and donors that will secure financial stability through supporting our programs and activities in the future. Donors may join our daily activities within the organization in order to coordinate our work better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several hours per week for actual work within the organization. Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would be determined by the required projects and their personal interest. From that group of volunteers we would look for future leaders of organization.

How to donate? 1. PayPal donation: szsamerika@gmail.com 2. Direct Deposit to Wells Fargo Bank account Please email us at: szsamerika@gmail.com 3. You can mail personal or business check to: Serbs for Serbs PO Box 34206, Chicago, IL 60634 4. Donation boxes: BEOGRAD CAFÉ 2937 West Irving Park Road Chicago, Illinois Owner: Dule Pavlovic

Why do we help? We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By focusing our help on families with many children, we directly affect on their stirring toward becoming independent from socialdependable government programs.

NADA’S DELI & BAKERY 7316 West Lawrence Avenue Harwood Heights, Illinois

What are our long term goals? • family is ready to support itself daily and manage to pay all required expenses; • their children are encouraged to continue with school and raising their own family; • our donors are satisfied with the activities and they are ready to help other families; • our organization is satisfied with the results; • family is ready in the future to become our donor and if necessary help other families that are in need of help.

Monthly Report for August VISIT TO FAMILY MILOVANOVIC FROM LOZNICA

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Family Milovanovic receives both social benefit and child allowance. They don’t have debts or a loan, but they are still paying off the house they bought. The children are well-behaved, they have enough clothes and footwear, but it is necessary to renovate the bathroom, because at the moment it seems as if they don’t have one at all. Father Dejan is working as a construction worker when he manages to find a job, and he is often in Russia in exceptionally difficult conditions and separated from his family.

In late July, we visited the 11 member family Milovanovic from the village of Trbusnica near Loznica. Parents Dejan and Sladjana have eight children, Miroslav (20), Gabrijela (17), Bojan (15), Bojana (15), Ivana (12), Andjela (9), Zdravko (6) and Borko (1). Mother Sladjana also has a son Milos (23) from her first marriage. What the family needs the most are arrangement of the bathroom, as well as replacement of roof constructions on the house because of moisture and possible collapse. The largest part of the funds to help family Milovanovic is provided on the charity derby in Loznica, as well as on the tournament Trojka iz bloka, which was held in Trsic.

The family has electricity and water, and there are pipes they purchased recently in order to carry the water into the bathroom, where currently there is almost nothing (they need water heater, sink, bathtub, tiles...). Family is heated with firewood.

A lot of moisture can be noted due to poor roof, so there is a need for total repair of the roof and the total demolition of the floor to the first panel which the host will do. They told us that parts of the roof were falling so far, but thank God, no one was injured. Carpentry, especially on the windows, is in poor condition. The family has a little bit of fruit trees in the yard and a small lot in its possession. Family Milovanovic has 3 goats, and they plan to build a pigsty out of material that can be used after the pulling down of the roof and dilapidated floor.

We call upon all the people of good will to get involved and contribute to the projects of the Charity Organization Serbs for Serbs that aim to help the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout the Balkan. Monthly Report for August NEW AID FOR BABIC FAMILY FROM PRIBOJ

Last year, Trojka iz Bloka tournament was held for the first time in Priboj! The town was eager to unite in the aid mission to help the six-member Babic family from the village Gracanica, near Priboj. The family consists of the parents, Obrad and Bojana, and their four children: Andjela (13), Tamara (12), Miljan (8), and Zagorka (3). A lot of people supported the tournament, so the funds were easily raised to build a bathroom in the new house for the six-member family.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Windows and the front door to the value of 70,000 RSD were provided for the first floor of the new Babic family home, and the family now has much better living conditions!

Father, Obrad, with his children in front of the house We extend our gratitude to the friends from the Pet Plus Prom Company from Gornji Milanovac who gave us big discount for the door and windows, and thus directly helped the Babic family.

Condition of the house before installing new windows The aid for the Babics arrived at the right time, and they used it to continue working on their house. Last year, we promised the family to help them in their future projects, and we kept the promise. When the head of the family, Obrad, contacted us, saying that he roofed the house, but that he cannot afford to buy windows, he immediately got a reply – not in words, but in deeds.

Youngest Babic family members extend deep gratitude to donors worldwide Trojka iz Bloka family never forgets its members and cares for all those families which have been helped and together with all of them heads towards a better future, full of children’s smiles, and with one idea only – CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!

SFS VISITED POPOVIC FAMILY NEAR TREBINJE

Old washing machine

At late July, 2016, the members of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from Belgrade and Trebinje visited family Popovic from the village of Zakovo near Trebinje. The family consists of a single father Stevo and three daughters: Andjela (15), Anastasija (7) and Aleksandra (2). Earlier this year, their mother took her life and afterwards they found themselves in a very difficult situation. The youngest daughter is temporarily located in a foster family in Trebinje. A large number of Trebinje inhabitants have already helped the family, and the family expressed a desire for a new small fridge, washing machine and carpentry for the kitchen.

In Trebinje, our organization recently organized the first Trojka iz bloka in which we collected 1.689,5 BAM and 20 EUR, and we will try to provide modest assistance to this family of the funds collected.

Single father Stevo with his daughter Anastasija

In conversation with family Popovic The only income of the family consists in 100 BAM of child allowance. They have 30 sheep, a cow and a calf, and two gardens, but the father barely achieves to manage everything, so there is no option to seriously dedicate themselves to agriculture and animal husbandry. The girls go to school in Trebinje which is 20 kilometers away.

We call upon all the people of good will to get involved and contribute to the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs which aim to help the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout Balkan.

Monthly Report for August SFS VISITED FAMILY CEKIC FROM MANJACA

Representatives of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from the Republic of Srpska visited in early August the nine-member family Cekic from the village of Donja Kola located 20 kilometers from Banja Luka, on the slopes of Mount Manjaca. The family consists of father Djuro and mother Mirela with their seven children, Milutin (18), Bogoje (14) and Genadije (9) whom Mirela gave birth to with her first husband and who are living with them in the household and twins Milica and Marija (4), Maja (3) and the youngest Vasilije who was born earlier this year and whom Djuro and Mirela gave birth to while living together.

We learned of family Cekic from our friends from the Serbian Assembly “Bastionik” who addressed us asking for help, and who helped this family for Christmas Eve by bringing packages of hygiene and basic supplies.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 In the family, nobody has a permanent job and the only secure income is 240 BAM they receive on the basis of child allowance and social assistance. The father and eldest sons are working for a wage and manage to provide at least basic conditions for life. The family also raises sheep and pigs, which were also provided with the help of good people and cultivates some land next to the house.

During the visit, we saw that the mother of the family is very conscious of her children, because the children are well-bred and nurtured and are also good pupils in school. From the local parish priest Goran Kovacevic, who was our host and who took us to the family, we learned that the family lives in very Christian-like manner, comes regularly to church, and holds the fasts and communion regularly.

Current layout of the house of family Cekic Plan of the organization is to carry out plastering of walls, installation of carpentry and floors in the house and make the bathroom for the family. Estimated value of the assets, which are necessary for the execution of these works is 13,000 BAM, so here we once again urge all the donors of our organization to get involved in fundraising according to their possibilities.

Serbs for Serbs with family Cekic

The biggest problem of the family is the unsuitable family house in which they live and which has, due to lack of funds, remained unfinished. With the help of friends, the house was completed by the first floor, but is has no roof, plastering, isolation, nor floors, and it has barely built-in carpentry, which poses a major problem for the family in the winter and rainy season because the inmates are cold; the water passes through and creates vast moisture.

At the end, we would like to give praise to the unanimity of all neighbors, friends and parishioners of the parish Donja Kola, led by the priest Goran, for the generous assistance provided and readiness to continue to provide assistance to family Cekic which we saw during our visit, and our organization will try to make another family residential secure and facilitate their hard life, which, unfortunately, have all the families of four or more children, who receive help from our organization. INSULATION SET AT FAMILY NASKOVIC

Family Naskovic in June 2015 (left) and in August 2016 (right) In addition to social and security threats, the family Naskovic is being particularly affected by the disease of the oldest daughter Danijela who suffers from Down’s syndrome, and she also has problems with the eyes, which is often life-threatening. Thanks to funds from donors around the world, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs has successfully implemented the second tranche of aid for the sixmember family Naskovic from the village Kusce in the Kosovo Pomoravlje. Help consisted in the setting of external insulation and façade of the family house of Naskovics that will solve the problem of rising damp in the house. The household consists of father Boban, mother Mikica and four minor children: Danijela (8), Teodora (5) and baby twins Aleksandar and Aleksandra (1.5). Representatives of the organization in mid-August visited family Naskovic and got the impression as if they were visiting in a brand new house. The total value of the materials and the works amounts to 338,000 RSD.

Let us remember, we first visited family Naskovic just before Vidovdan in 2015 on the initiative of the prior of Draganac monastery, Archimandrite Ilarion, who has showed us the plight of this young family.

NEW HOME FOR FAMILY STOJKOVIC FROM KOSMET

Family Stojkovic in March (left) and August (right) 2016

Only six months after the first visit, the representatives of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, thanks to donor funds, effectively organized settlement of entire home of family Stojkovic from the village of Partes on Kosovo and Metohija (municipality of Gnjilane).

Work on the house of family Stojkovic consisted in the reconstruction of a hallway, two rooms and floors in the ground, replacement of carpentry, as well as the purchase of new furniture (before our visit, bunk bed with mattresses for children, closets, carpet, working desk, kitchen, table and chairs, were delivered to family Stojkovic, and in a few days the refrigerator, electric stove, wood-burning stove, three-seater and washing machine should arrive).

The four-member family consists of a single father Milorad and children Tamara (8), Milos (7) and Jelena (6).

Milorad Stojkovic with his children Milorad Stojkovic welcomed us by saying that he expected help, but he never dreamed that it would be to this extent, and that his children now finally have decent conditions for growing up.

HELP ARRIVED TO FAMILY JURISIC FROM PIROT

In previous days, members of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs helped the six-member family Jurisic. Help for family Jurisic was collected by organizing the first tournament “Trojka iz bloka” in Pirot, held on July 30 at the Youth Stadium within the Pirot Cultural Summer where, with the help of many good people and sponsors – the City of Pirot, the House of Culture Pirot and JP Water Supply and Severage Pirot, we collected a total of 43,890 RSD. Family Jurisic lives in the village of Sopot, which is about ten kilometers from Pirot. The family of Zoran and Silvija has four children: Danijela (16), Danijel (14), Zorica (12) and Sinisa (10).

Machines and an additional tool for the workshop In this regard, it opened the possibility that in a makeshift garage, which the father Zoran made by himself with great difficulty, with the help of a single hammer and a saw, we could provide the family Jurisic with tools with which they could perform tin-paint works in that garage, in which father Zoran has a great experience, because he had worked on such jobs for ten years, while he lived in Krusevac.

New tools for craftsman Zoran As we reported earlier, at the time of our visit, family Jurisic was three months without electricity, but they had managed to pay debts for electricity in the previous period, after which it was turned on again.

Therefore, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs bought a tool in the amount of 90,607 RSD, and thus enabled the family Jurisic to provide sufficient resources to enable their children a decent life with their work.

Tin-paint workshop Jurisic As we were assured during our visit, for only a few days after our help, the family Jurisic’s job boosted. As they say, people have recognized their hard work, skill of father Zoran, and a new and professional tool that is provided to them in order to perform all types of these jobs in a professional manner.

Hard working host Zoran Jurisic On this occasion, we extend gratitude of family Jurisic to all of our donors, participants of the project “Trojka iz bloka”, as well as the sponsors of the tournament in Pirot who contributed another Pirot family to get back on its feet. NEW HELP FOR FAMILY DAVIDOVIC FROM REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

During our visit to the family, we were reassured that the biggest problem of the family still consists in the location of their house. Namely, as we reported, the house is situated approximately 20 kilometers from Prijedor on mostly gravel road, and additional kilometer and a half of almost impassable forest road leads to the gravel road.

The Charity organization Serbs for Serbs provided two new tractor rear tires to the six-member family Davidovic from the village of Marini near Prijedor. To recall, the family Davidovic consists of father Dalibor and mother Vesna and their four children: Nikolina (9), Dejan (7), Natasa (6) and Pavle (3). At the beginning of this year we provided tractor to the family. Given that the tires on the tractor which we purchased were already old, and it became very risky to go into the forest with them, but that the family was not yet able to acquire new tires on its own, father of the family Dalibor turned to us asking for help. On this occasion, we bought two internal and two external rear tires of the tractor, and the total value of the action amounted to 1,373.58 BAM.

It further, unfortunately, entails other problems – there are fewer people who surround family Davidovic and where members of the family can work for a wage and earn money; the elementary school is far away, and the children will have to attend the high school in Prijedor; the hospital is also far away; and the road is largely impassable during the winter time.

The only solution for the family is to move to some of the Prijedor suburban areas, so that it could be closer to the town and have the opportunity to continue to engage in agriculture. Our organization, in the following longterm period, will certainly try to provide a house and a property to the family and move them there with the help of donors and, primarily, state institutions.

Older son Dejan beside the tractor

Until then, we once again call upon all friends and donors of the organization to get involved in fundraising according to their possibilities and thus help the work of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs.

Monthly Report for August HELP FOR FAMILY STANKOVIC FROM KOSOVO AND METOHIJA

At late August, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs helped family Stankovic from the village of Sumaci in the Novo Brdo municipality on Kosovo and Metohija. Members of the family are grandfather Slobodan and four sons – Slavisa, Sinisa, Srdjan and Sreten, of whom only Sreten is living on the property with his wife Nena and three children: Milos (16), Marina (14) and Mihajlo (5), while the remaining three Slobodan’s sons are currently in central Serbia. We provided 200 bales of hay to family Stankovic, in the total value of 40,000 RSD.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 The family took a loan in order to build the new barn, and the organization Serbs for Serbs donated 20 bales of hay. SERBS FOR SERBS VISITING FAMILY SUKUNDA

With the current irregular income they are not able to make big plans independently, and one of the first wishes was to get broilers, that would help strengthen their household budget and have a bit easier life The fifth season of the sports-charity project Trojka iz bloka brought four tournaments in southern Banat, and the mission of helping socially disadvantaged families continues even as the balls are still echoing on the ground. Immediately from words to deeds – after a fantastic tournament in Banatski Karlovac the representatives of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs recently visited the seven-member family Sukunda from the village of Vladimirovci in the municipality of Alibunar. Nenad and Svetlana Sukunda are raising four children: Andjela (14), Stefanija (11), Stevica (7) and Ognjen (5). The grandfather Nikola is living with them and notwithstanding his asthma, he is helping as much as he can, taking care of the children while parents are occupied on a seasonal basis.

All of us should now work together to help this family! With four great tournaments, southern Banat showed that it cared for neighbors in need, and Banatski Karlovac will soon get reborn family Sukund with our help! We call upon all the people of good will to get involved and donate in order to help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs with the aim of helping the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout Balkan.

The family lives in a modest manner and without debt, with children's allowance of 11,000 RSD but with certain problems. In addition to the problem of moisture that needs to be resolved urgently, they need another room, which would be the room for the girls and that would allow the normal functioning of the family. „TROJKA IZ BLOKA“ IN TREBINJE AND HERCEG NOVI

The fifth year of the largest charity tournament in the region has opened the doors on all sides of the world, even in the most beautiful one – Eastern Herzegovina, in Trebinje, a fairytale town. 129 shooters competed for the title of the best triple shooter of Trebinje, and with the help of eight proud sponsors, three donors and nine technical sponsors we raised a total of 1,689.5 BAM and 20 EUR for the help to family Popovic from Popovo Polje! On 23 July, on the grounds of Trebisnjica, in the popular resort Bregovi, in a wonderful Sports Center “Srdjan Aleksic”, elite of Trebinje basketball and humanity was gathered.

What gathered them was a mission that has been gathering people from all over the world for years, and changing life to the socially disadvantaged multiple children families. These families are becoming the part of the “Trojka iz bloka” family that continues to take care of them in the years to come, just as it continues to organize tournaments in places in which it has done it once. The magic of Trojka iz bloka met the magic of the town of Trebinje and competition in rapid kicking triplets was much more than just a competition once again. A medal of goodness, joy, good heart and soul, goes to all citizens of Trebinje.

Shortly after 18 pm the national anthem of the Republic of Srpska, “My Republic” was played, and afterwards Milos Simovic on behalf of the Charity Organization Serbs for Serbs got Trebinje residents acquainted with previous successes of Trojka iz bloka and called Dusko Markovic, Pero Maric, Sasa Kosovic and Petar Aleksic, basketball stars from Trebinje, to take the first shots and open the first tournament in Herzegovina!

Pizzeria Lesason supported the project in Trebinje with 100 BAM and 10 EUR; White bar with 110 EUR; FC Sarajevo, Andjelic Winery, Restaurant Stara Hercegovina, Betting Joker, Nedjo Popadic and Vaso Mijanovic donated 100 BAM each, while Dodz Cafe, café Azaro i Srdjan Djuricic donated 50 BAM each. An incredible list of good and deeply committed people who have united to help their neighbors in need. We have gathered, spent good time with Uncle Joe and dance group Maris, and the best among the triplet kickers among Trebinje humanitarians were Marko Rikalo with 20 points and Marko Lambeta and Nemanja Ratkovic with a basket less each.
