Monthly Report for December Dear friends and donors, Charity organization Serbs for Serbs registered in the state of Illinois in United States in Jun 2010 by the group of the Serbian youth. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is a 501(c)(3) notfor-profit charitable organization. Donation is tax-deductible to the extent followed by the law. On 30th September, 2011 we finally got the letter from department of the treasury (IRS) with tax exempt 501(c)3 approval. All donations to our organization donated from June 16, 2010 are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers of gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.

About Us The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans, Serbs and their friends through planned projects, social and humanitarian activities in order to develop and foster better society for future generations and provide aid for underprivileged families in need. Although there are many humanitarian organizations and associations, help often doesn't reach the most jeopardized. Due to unnecessary administration, missing information and slow decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late to the final consumers, or not at all. It is a sad and embarrassing, but true fact that more than 18.000 children daily die around the world because of starvation and malnutrition. There, among us, the blind and deaf. We are witnesses of the bad demographic situation of our nation, decreasing natality, increasing number of singles, abortions, accelerated aging of

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 the population and generally bad economic condition of the households in Serbia, Republic of Srpska and other countries in the Balkan. An average couple has "fallen" on one child. Analysts warn that Serbs will become a minority in its own country in the following century if the nation, individuals and government don't wake up from the nescient in which they've fallen! On the other hand, nobody is talking about the families with many children which grieve by living in bitter poverty. Occupied by their everyday struggle for survival, they are being humbly in their desire for implementing rights which belong to them. Their life stories, fears and problems are identical, but almost invisible and unheard in order to gain the attention of the public, media and even state. That's why the idea of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs arose. The organization was formed by a group of young and trustful people, who are united by the common vision of helping families blessed by many children and who are aware of the fact that even a small help means a lot for those who don't live in a material excess. We are united by the humane idea to help the poorest part of the Serbian nation. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs try to revive the spiritless energy of the Serbian Diaspora which would be able to reinforce people of Serbian heritage as well as all good people throughout the world with minimal, but constant monthly donations. We hope and believe that there is also a grain of doing good and that you will join us in the endless struggle against poverty. God bless and save all Serbian families with many children and our honored donors who participate in the noble effort to return smile on children faces.

CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!

Monthly Report for December Ambitions

Our mission The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop better society for future generations. Why Serbs for Serbs? We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian people in togetherness and brotherhood help through humanitarian work and social aid. Who do we help? We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have five or more children and live in terrible poverty. Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or more basic factors required for living: food, clothes, shoes, and safe space for living.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Who do we need in organization? We need members and donors that will secure financial stability through supporting our programs and activities in the future. Donors may join our daily activities within the organization in order to coordinate our work better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several hours per week for actual work within the organization. Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would be determined by the required projects and their personal interest. From that group of volunteers we would look for future leaders of organization.

How to donate? 1. PayPal donation: szsamerika@gmail.com 2. Direct Deposit to Wells Fargo Bank account Please email us at: szsamerika@gmail.com 3. You can mail personal or business check to: Serbs for Serbs PO Box 34206, Chicago, IL 60634 4. Donation boxes: BEOGRAD CAFÉ 2937 West Irving Park Road Chicago, Illinois Owner: Dule Pavlovic

Why do we help? We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By focusing our help on families with many children, we directly affect on their stirring toward becoming independent from socialdependable government programs.

NADA’S DELI & BAKERY 7316 West Lawrence Avenue Harwood Heights, Illinois

What are our long term goals? • family is ready to support itself daily and manage to pay all required expenses; • their children are encouraged to continue with school and raising their own family; • our donors are satisfied with the activities and they are ready to help other families; • our organization is satisfied with the results; • family is ready in the future to become our donor and if necessary help other families that are in need of help.

Monthly Report for December HELP FOR THE KRSTIC FAMILY FROM BOLJEVAC

The day of November 27th was a busy day for members of the Charity organization Serbs For Serbs. Together with representatives of the sports federation of the Boljevac municipality, they were at their final visit with the seven members of the Krstic family. Thanks to the funds raised through the tournament Trojka iz Bloka held on August 2nd, we were able to assist the Krstic family in insulating the external part of their home before the winter. 83,560 din ($706.69 USD) was raised through the tournament, and another 1,500 EUR ($1567.72 USD) was donated by Serbian volleyball star Jovana Stevanovic. The total funds raised comes out to 285,930 din.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 The father, Dragan (55), had recently suffered a stroke, and not long after that the family had also lost their grandfather, Vukasin, father of Dragan’s wife Suzana, who was the rock of their family. While Suzana has dedicated herself to taking care of her husband 24-hours a day in the old home of her husband's parents in Aleksic, her mother Nada, takes care of and raises their four kids: Stefan (25), Danica (23), Dimitri (13), and Djordje (10).

The facade of the house set Thanks to the repairs done on their home, the Krstic family will be spend significantly less money on heating during the winter time. Seeing as the winters in this part of Serbia are known to be long and harsh, the grandmother Nada says that this help was, “the right wind in the back for her family”. Three Trojka iz Bloka tournaments, three assisted families, twenty kids” smiles full of true thankfulnessthat is the success achieved through the past three years of working with participants, sponsors, and donators. It is clear each year that because of this success the Trojka iz Bloka tournament is becoming more popular and more massive manifestation in the city near the river Arnauti. This is also the best way invite all people from this area, in even greater number, to support and take part in future sports affiliated humanitarian projects. See you August 2, 2017 in the small town at the foot of the magnificent mountain Rtnja!

SFS VISITED THE NENADIC FAMILY FROM GRAHOVO

in age, but young in his heart. In 2003, he came back to his home, married his wife who is 20 years younger than him and since then God has blessed their marriage with three children.

Representatives from the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from Belgrade visited the five members of the Nenadic family from the municipality of Crni Lug, part of Bosnian Grahova. Members of the family include: father Cedo (50), veteran of the Republic of Serbia army, his wife Sanja (30), and their kids Nikola (13), Djordje (10), Ruzica (8). After the war and complete change in the demographic picture of Bosnian Krajina, life through great anguish is getting back to normal. Cedo did not want to abandon his ancestral home, even though it was apparent to everyone that Serbs had lost the war in Krajina and that many difficult years were to follow.

Cedo says that the first time he smiled after the war was when his first child Nikola was born. The family lives in their home that has electricity, running water, and a bathroom. Money for subsistence and maintaining the household are the Nenadic’s biggest struggle. The five of them live on only 130 KM ($65 USD) a year from a pension which Cedo receives because of his participation in the war, but every month they have expenses of about 50 KM ($25 USD) for electricity as well as the children’s school lunches.

The Nenadic family fight for tomorrow to be better- they have a farm of their own with about 100 sheep, one cow and two calves. Because of their hard work and effort invested in their farm, they have not inquired about more, besides the help that will support their treasure.

Current condition of the unfinished Nenadic house in Crni Lug Very few people have returned to Krajina. Of the people who have returned, most of them are elderly and retired, Cedo is one of the rare ones who returned not that young

They are in need of extending the capacity of their stable about 20-30 cubic meters, so that they can increase the amount of sheep they have to sell and with that improve their financial status.

Monthly Report for December

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 All three kids, along with other neighborhood kids travel twenty kilometers to school in Grahova and twenty kilometers home. Their neighbors organized to carpool the kids because they all realize that in this Serbian part the biggest treasure is their kids. They are their only hope for the future.

In conversation with the Nenadic’s in their backyard.

Cedo’s wish is to have a new chainsaw and tractor. The tractor they use now is from 1983 and it is not in the best condition. It is also necessary for them to complete the insulation on their home, fix their leaky roof, updating their kitchen, buying a new stove as well as beds and dressers for the kids.

With a bigger stable, the Nenadic’s would be able to obtain more sheep and sell them to already demanding customers. Any help for the Nenadic family would truly be an investment in them and their hard work so they could make a better future for themselves.

No one in the family is employed, but no one is sick either. The kids go to school and their parents make every effort to make sure they aren't missing anything. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs www.serbsforserbs.org PO Box 34206, Chicago, IL 60634 Phone: +1-312-85-SERBS

All that is left is to put the fence and curtain on shower cabin. Bathroom is, as you can see on pictures, fully functional and modern. Vuksanovici unanimously agreed that they like new bathroom and send thanks to all the donors for help.

While work at home continues, father Srdan helps workers and sleeps on mattress in living room, but children went to cousins not so far from house.

During the talk with children, we have noticed that they have got new computer but they told us that they have not a desk and chair for it.

SFS with family Djordjevic and material for bathroom We donated them four beds, a refrigerator, a table and six chairs. This family, where two brothers and their mother suffer from psychological issues caused by NATO bombing, consists of Gradimir and Biserka with their sons Milos (27), Igor (26), Stefan (25) and Aleksandar (17).

This first part of our help delivery we finish in the village Mesina where we have delivered a cow with a calf to Jevtic Dimitrije, Nadica and their sons Slobodan (27) and Marko (24). This family is the only family who remained in Mesine and also, a month ago, they were stolen two cows and a calf which caused them great damage.

Cow and calf for Jevtic family The family lives in harsh conditions in a very old house without a bathroom. The psychological condition of some family members together with inability to work and water shortage in their part of the village make everything even harder. In Donja Gusterica, we delivered three beds and a wood burning stove to Stakic Slavisa and Jelena and their kids Tijana (22), Tamara (20) and Miljana (19). They were displaced from Stimlje and now they live in Gusterica as subtenants. To Djordjevic Stanoje, Biljana and their children Sladjana (22), Radovan (21) and Aleksandar (20) who live in Bostane we delivered the material necessary for the bathroom renovation.

We also used this opportunity and paid a visit to Gazimestan where we reminded ourselves of all the sacrifices our people made, from St. Knez Lazar up to today and also reminded ourselves of our obligation to save our land and the people who live there in a very harsh environment without jobs and minimum incomes, oppressed and in fear. We will remember their fight and perseverance to stay and survive in Kosovo and Metohija. With this we finish our first part of providing help to the families from Kosovo and Metohija with the second part coming soon. We want to express our gratitude to all the donors and people who contribute for the work of our organization and perseverance of Serbian people on Kosovo and Metohija. We invite all people of good will to join us and help us in our work in the Charity organization Serbs For Serbs.

Monthly Report for December BECAUSE OF BOMBARDMENT THAY DON’T LIVE NORMALLY ANY MORE

Six members of Stojanovic family from Straza village in Kosovo and Metohija had completely normal lives until 1999. NATO agression on Serbia occured that year and nothing was same ever again. Due to the fear and sustained trauma both parents and two out of four sons found themselves in a difficult psycho-physical conditions, which they suffer from even today. NATO aviation's actions are something that Milos and Igor (in the picture) will always remember, but what they will not remember are the things all of us experience in our lives - first love, spending time with friends, travelling, sports activities, school days, first job, marriage, children... Everyday life of this family is truly sad since 1999.

www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 The family survives only thanks to the help of good and kind people from Rashko-Prizrenska Eparchy and the organization "Majka devet Jugovica" who brings them meals from the nearby public kitchen on a daily basis. Besides that, they have two cows and couple of goats. The youngest Alexandar is taking care of them and he is the only light in this household. This gloomy atmosphere is complemented with a house they live in which has three small rooms with a ground floor and the roof which is about to fall down. The additional problem is that that part of the village does not have water supply and they have to bring it for miles to their homes. But the biggest problem for these people is that we have forgot them! For seventeen years after agression Stojanovic family has been living completely cut out from the civilization, which is also proven by the fact that they do not have even one TV channel in Serbian language. Few times they have received some minor help, in the first place, thanks to the Charity Organisation Serbs for Serbs who has so far provided beds, table, chairs, fridge... The members of the Charity Organisation Serbs for Serbs actually started the action in order to raise 20.000 euros until Christmas so that a new house is built and that the family lives in decent conditions. Second part of the action includes trying to persuade the Municipallity to help them by providing water supply for their home. How to help? For building a new family house for Stojanovics it is necessary to put a label "for Stojanovics" when donating money to some of the bank accounts of the Charity Organisation Serbs for Serbs. When it comes to the countries abroad, it is possible to deposit money via PayPal addresses szsaustrija@gmail.com and szsamerika@gmail.com as well as via this donation platform http://www.srbizasrbe.net/donacije. All donations will be publicly posted on the organization's site and after the action is finished, photos of the new house together with the scanned bills of the provided help will be published. Charity Organisation Serbs for Serbs exists for 11 years and so far we have raised 1.700.000 euros and helped more than 1.600 multimember families in the Balkans.

Igor is in the worst condition, who, until a year ago, didn't get up from his bed. Today he can walk a little bit in within his 4 walls and say a few words.

CEKIC FAMILY WILL BE SOON IN THE NEW PART OF THE HOUSE

Building was finished in december 2016

Members of the Charity organization Serbs for Сerbs from Serbia and Republic of Srpska have visited at the end of december 2016, Cekic family of nine, from the village Donja Kola, that is located approximately 20km from Banja Luka, on the slopes of mountain Manjaca. Members of the family are father Djuro and mother Mirela, and their seven children, Milutin (18), Bogoje (14), Genadije (9), twin sisters Milica and Marija (4), Maja (3) and their youngest Vasilije (1). Our organization has provided building materials and beds for the children, in total value of 12.649 BAM. This donation was provided by Gracanica – Serbian eastern ortodox church congregation of Windsor, Canada, purposely for finishing building this family’s house.

We installed 16 new pvc windows, as well as front doors, we plastered 250sqm of walls, we built complete water supply network, and bought much needed sanitary equipment for bathroom We found out about Cekic family from our friends from Serbian organization „Bastionik“ from Banja Luka, who contacted us with a plead to help this family. „Bastionik“ has helped them as well, on Christmas eve, when they brought them packages of personal hygene items and food. In this family, nobody has a permanent employement, and the only certain source of income is 240 BAM of social aid. Besides that, father and the oldest sons, try to make some additional income by working seasonal jobs, so that they could live at least a bit better. Furthermore, they raise sheeps and pigs, which were also given to them as a help from all the good people, and they grow some vegetables on the land that they own besides the house.

During our visit, we had a chance to see how impecably this mother takes care of her children, because the kids are so well behaved, beautifully dressed, and all of them have good grades. Their parish priest Goran Kovacevic, who was our host, and who took us to visit them, said that the family lives obeying God’s laws, that they come regularly to church, that they are fasting, and that they receive holy communion regularly. The biggest problem for this family is their practicaly uninhabitable house. With a help of the friends, first floor of the house was finished, but withouth a roof, unplastered, uninsulated, withouth floors, with carpentry that was installated poorly. All of this was huge problem during the winter and autumn, because it was too cold, and water was leaking everywhere.

THE LJILJAK FAMILY ON THEIR WAY TO A BETTER LIFE

At the end of 2016, members of a Charity organization Serbs for Serbs have visited the Ljiljak family from Grocka to check progress of works on the construction of bathrooms and expanding their home. As we have reported earlier, the family is consisted by ten members: grandfather Mirko and grandmother Milica, their daughter Duška, a single mother of a seven children: Andrej (5), Slobodanka (8), Tamara (10), Bobana and Mirko (11), Zorka (12) and Božana (13).

The financial situation of the family has not improved since our last visit by the end of 2015. They still live exclusively on social aid and occasional wage that grandfather Mirko earns, but, because of his age, the question is how long can the Ljiljak family count on that type of income. The Ljiljak family couldn’t go further unaided and that is why there appeared Serbs for Serbs, and then our sister organization “Smile as a gift”, other organizations, many individuals and donors, to, with joined forces, as well as in hundred other cases, help a vulnerable family with many children to move forward to a better life. In the house of the Ljiljak family, after numerous problems with documentation and land that we were able to solve, work is now in progress at full steam and one extra room will soon be completed, so that children can have more space to learn, play and sleep, and a bathroom, so that the whole family can have living conditions decent fot tha 21st century!

During the nineties, the Ljiljak family had to move their native Western Slavonia and escape to Serbia due to well-known reasons. With the aid of the Commissariat for Refugees, they’ve bought themselves a small house of only 33 square meters, without a bathroom, at Smederevo road in the place of Dubočaj in Grocka, in order to finally get a place to live, they tried everything to forget bad things from the past and have tried to start a new life.

HUMANITARIAN CHRISTMAS TRIATLON

Trojka iz bloka has finished its most successful tournament season so far and a big humanitarian mission is being continued - December 17th, in a cafe-bar Semlin, hosted by our proud sponsors and true friends, the first Christmas triathlon was held. The teams of two were competing in three different categories - table football, card game and darts. Our humane citizens of Zemun and our friends from other parts of the city collected 25.300 RSD for socially disadvantaged families. This is the second humanitarian tournament which was held in the most beautiful part of Zemun and it is becoming tradition of compassion, benevolence and help for those in need. Trojka iz bloka mission lives in Zemun!

For the past 11 years Osmeh na dar has been making holidays happier for children from Kosovo and other parts where their help is needed and today they have an important ally in Zemun - fans team Taurunum Boys and cafe-bar Semlin, together with two proud sponsors, showed us how they put all their efforts for the children in need.

Champions Champions of the first Christmas humanitarian triathlon were Bulat and Zoki, Milena and Nemanja were second , Kica and Milos third and Bora and Crnogorac took forth place.

The night of good-hearted people and interesting games was special because of the 7th cafe-bar Semlin anniversary and because of a traditional candy-collecting organized by the foundation Osmeh na dar. Two proud Trojka iz Bloka sponsors from Zemun- Catering Plus and Liberty contributed to this mission and together with the help from other guests 30.000 RSD value of candies was collected.

The most touching part of the evening was rewarding the owner of cafe-bar Semlin, Mr. Lukic, with an honorary humanitarian plaque, for all these years he has been supporting and fighting for the future of our children. Zemun clearly stated - WE DON'T GIVE UP! NO SURRENDER! CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!

SUCCESSFUL DARTS TOURNAMENT IN NURAMBERG

Sunday, 25. December 2016. In Nuremberg we organized fourth in the row humanitarian darts tournament “Bozicna akcija” in caffe AS. 16 contestants applied to fight for the first place on prestige tournament and get themselves one of the articles from SFS boutique. The great competition was held but always in the sportsman spirit and fair-play. Café was full and nobody wanted to miss this.

On this year’s tournament we gathered 1.265 € of donations which we will use in our Christmas action! I would like to give special thanks to guys which came all the way from Munich to donate 640 euros. One more time, big thanks to everyone! Neither this time we hadn’t surprises: last year’s champion David Srdic fell out of tournament from outsider Milos Simic in quarterfinals. The same Milos in historical finale defeated last year’s finalist Oliver Obradovic and proven to everybody that they should believe in their dreams. Great thanks to all the contestants, friends who came and donated without contesting the tournament, bought tshirts from our boutique and at the end simply came to hangout and finish this year with this event.
