ADVANCEMENT UPDATE: A WARM WELCOME
To the Chaminade Community,
On August 1, 2022, I was honored to enter the Chaminade family. An already close-knit community: the faculty, staff, parents, students, friends, and Chaminade alumni have welcomed me in the sincerest way.
As a St. Louis native, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to return home after spending five years in Sacramento, California. As the Managing Executive Director for UC Davis’ School of Medicine, I had the opportunity to lead a team to great success; raising money for research being developed at the medical center and student scholarships to support those from underrepresented backgrounds.
Prior to being at UC Davis’ School of Medicine, I worked at Saint Louis University’s School of Medicine, where I traveled locally and nationally to meet donors who had supported the School of Medicine previously, asking them to consider their philanthropy in a new way, resulting in a number of new endowed medical school scholarships.
All these experiences have led me to this incredibly unique moment, a moment I cherish for many reasons. As the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, not only do I have the opportunity to create meaningful relationships with Chaminade families and donors, but I also have the honor of leading one of the hardest working teams I have ever met.
At first inspired by the School President Dr. Toddy Guidry, I quickly learned that the same passion and conviction he displayed was also beaming from the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni. What a powerful presence to be surrounded by! I knew I needed to do whatever it took to sustain the aura of excellence so dominant within the doors of Chaminade.
Some of my favorite experiences thus far have been connecting with alumni at Celebrate Chaminade and their class reunions, visiting with parents at Mothers’ Club and Fathers’ Club events, and meeting some very committed and loyal members of the McBride Alumni Club.
Thank you all for the exceptionally warm welcome! I am honored to serve you and look forward to connecting with each of you.
Lisa Schaffer Vice President, Institutional Advancement
