Your Support is Crucial, please think of Arts Bonita for your end-of-the-year giving
As we look back on this year, we are excited to share the incredible strides we’ve made at Arts Bonita to enhance both our facilities and programs. We’ve upgraded our lighting and sound equipment to bring a new level of quality to every performance, making your experience more immersive and dynamic. Our educational programs have expanded significantly, with more scholarships offered than ever before—over $75,000 this summer alone. Additionally, we’ve launched numerous free educational outreach programs for economically disadvantaged students, ensuring that the arts remain accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
However, as the year draws to a close, we must also face some difficult realities—and we need your help to continue our mission.
While we were fortunate not to suffer physical damage during the last two hurricanes, the cancellations, refunds and lost productivity have had an immense impact on our bottom line. Additionally, you may have heard about the significant cuts to Florida State Arts and Cultural Grant programs, which have been slashed by $32 million. We were eligible to receive $150,000 from the state, and narrowing this gap is crucial for us to maintain the high-quality programs our community has come to expect. The arts enrich our lives, create shared memories, and foster a sense of belonging—none of which would be possible without the generosity of individuals like you.
Without adequate support, we risk losing vital programming that educates, inspires, and unites us. The loss of funding means fewer opportunities for local artists, reduced accessibility to arts education, and diminished cultural experiences for everyone.
At Arts Bonita, we remain deeply committed to enriching our community despite these challenges. We provide over $150,000 in scholarships annually to underserved individuals, ensuring that the arts are accessible to all. Our residency program supports local artists by offering them the resources and space they need to thrive. Our School of the Arts continues to be recognized as one of the best in the region, offering top-notch education to both budding and established artists alike.
As you consider your end-of-year giving, we kindly ask you to give a little more generously during this challenging time. Your support is crucial in keeping our programs alive and ensuring that the arts remain an essential part of our community.
Thank you for being a part of Arts Bonita and for helping us continue to thrive. Together, we can overcome these obstacles and ensure a bright future for the arts in our region.
Warm regards,
You may have heard that Florida State Arts and Cultural Grant programs have been slashed by $32 million. This devastating cut will have farreaching impacts on our area, threatening the vibrancy and richness of our local arts scene.
The arts are not just a luxury; they are an essential part of our community’s identity, diversity and well-being. Without adequate support, we risk losing vital programming that educates, inspires and unites us as a creative community. The loss of funding means fewer opportunities for local artists, reduced accessibility to arts education and diminished cultural experiences for all.
At Arts Bonita, we are deeply committed to enriching our community despite these challenges. We provide over $100,000 in scholarships annually to our underserved community, ensuring that the arts are accessible to everyone. Our residency program supports local artists, giving them the resources and space, they need to thrive as creatives. Additionally, our art school is recognized as one of the best in the region, offering top-notch education to budding and established artists alike.
We were eligible to receive $150,000 from the state and narrowing this gap is crucial for us to maintain our programs and support our community. Now, more than ever, we need your support to continue our mission. We kindly ask you to give a little more generously during this challenging time. Your contributions, participation and advocacy are crucial in helping us navigate this difficult period.
for being a valued member of the Arts Bonita family. Together, we can ensure that the arts remain a vibrant and vital part of our community.

If you’ve ever wanted to see ABBA perform, whether you are an original or a new fan, now is your chance to see for yourself what it was like!
Originally, they just wanted to have vocal arrangements for covers—but covering ABBA is much more than that. ABBAMANIA is backed by a live band and their costumes are created by the same seamstress from MAMA MIA. Their dedication is what makes their shows so immersive and it was what gave ABBAMANIA their #1 rating.

His 2017 album Trouble & Whiskey and 2018 album Welcome to my Blues both charted on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart for multiple weeks. His latest album, That’s What I’m Talkin’ About, was released in 2021 as a tribute to Hubert Sumlin.

A
collaboration between two artists to depict the demise of community in our cities.
Many have lost a sense of responsibility and empathy to their neighbor and have adopted a form of tribalism and self righteousness. We still believe that miracles happen everyday and that our cities are still inhabited by wonderful people. It is through music, the ultimate unifier, that we bring forth this project to block out the noise and rejoice in union for a better tomorrow in our towns, homes and cities. This uplifting suite of music has been written specifically for YOU, the Arts Bonita audience and is a celebration of the musical community that we are building together through this Resident Artist Concert Series. If you pick only one concert to attend in 2024, it should be this one!
Resident Artist Dr. Zachary Bartholomew is an award-winning pianist, composer and music educator who maintains a highly active performance career as one of the most heavily sought-after pianists, accompanists and sidemen in all of Florida. Since 2021 he has been awarded the prestigious “Artist Performance on Tour'' grant from the state of Florida for his “Jazz Access Tour,” an outreach program that aims to provide underserved communities and schools in Florida with world-class public performances and educational programs.

Gary has made his Ho Ho Hoey Rockin’ Holiday Tour a holiday tradition for over 25 years now. This is a show that friends and families, no matter the age, will enjoy.
Come to Arts Bonita to enjoy the classic Christmas tunes with a rock and roll twist with Gary Hoey!
Gary Hoey made his name known in 1987 after an audition with Ozzy Osbourne. Though it was a failed audition, Osbourne could see his talent and encouraged Hoey to move to LA to expand that. His career skyrocketed in 1992, thanks to his cover of “Hocus Pocus”, which put him on Billboard’s Top 5 Rock Tracks.
22 original albums and many covers later, Gary Hoey is now recognized as one of the top 100 guitarists of all time. He is beyond enthusiastic when it comes to the guitar. His talent, technique and charisma are not only evident on the stage, but also to the many big names that he has worked with over the years.

POST-IMPRESSIONISM: THE GENESIS OF EXPRESSIONISM
KIRAH VAN SICKLE | Lunch & Lecture
In the late 19th century a group of artists expanded on the Impressionist model with a more abstracted, energized approach to landscape painting. The impact was fierce and the results are the genesis of rich abstract art movements throughout Europe and the US. Let’s look at what makes the post-Impressionists so cutting edge and vibrant to our contemporary art history.
