FIRE STATION #4 PROJECT BEGINS WITH GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
The City held its official groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station #4 on Wednesday, November 19. This milestone represents a significant investment in public safety and reflects our continued commitment to providing timely, reliable emergency services to our rapidly growing community.
The new station will enhance response times, expand service coverage, and ensure that our firefighters have the resources and facilities necessary to meet the needs of our residents. We extend our sincere appreciation for your support of this critical project and for recognizing the importance of expanding our public safety infrastructure as the City continues to grow. We also want to thank all who attended the ceremony, including City leadership, members of our fire and police departments, City staff, contractors, engineers, architects, regional partners, and residents.
FIRE STATION #1 TO HOST OPEN HOUSE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22
The Celina Fire Department will host its next Open House on Saturday, November 22, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fire Station #1. These events continue to serve as an outstanding opportunity for residents to engage with our firefighters, learn more about fire and life safety, and gain a firsthand look at the equipment and resources that support our emergency response operations. Open Houses help strengthen community relationships, promote public education, and reinforce the department’s commitment to transparency and service.
CITY CELEBRATES TEAM SUCCESS AT CELINA CONNECT. QUARTERLY MEETINGS
This past week, the City hosted two Celina Connect. Quarterly Meetings - our all-staff gatherings designed to strengthen internal communication and recognize the outstanding contributions of our workforce. During these sessions, we celebrated employee anniversaries, welcomed new hires, honored our veterans, and highlighted exceptional departmental achievements. Staff also received updates on current Human Resources initiatives and a preview of the upcoming 150th Anniversary plans for 2026. These meetings play a vital role in fostering collaboration, reinforcing our shared mission, and ensuring that every employee remains informed, engaged, and appreciated for the important work they do on behalf of our community.
COFFEE WITH THE CONTRACTOR EVENT CANCELLED FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY
Swinerton has cancelled the Coffee with the Contractors event originally scheduled for Wednesday, November 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The December session will be held earlier than usual, on Wednesday, December 17, as the final two Wednesdays of the month coincide with Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The event will return to its normal final Wednesday of the month schedule beginning in January 2026.
CITY WELCOMES NEW STAFF TO CELINA PUBLIC LIBRARY
This week, the City welcomed two new staff members to the Celina Public Library, further strengthening our team and enhancing our capacity to serve the community.
ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM UPDATE
As part of the City’s ongoing commitment to preserving and enhancing infrastructure quality, the Annual Street Maintenance (ASM) Program addresses critical repairs and preventive maintenance of local roadways. The 2025 ASM project includes targeted concrete panel replacements and asphalt spot repairs at the following locations:

TRAFFIC IMPACT
Traffic will alternate through construction areas as work progresses. The contractor will manage traffic control operations throughout the duration of the project to ensure safety and minimize disruption. The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and businesses as these improvements are completed and remains committed to maintaining reliable, high-quality infrastructure for the community.

DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY PHASE 4A PROJECT: LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION
As part of the continued progress on the DNT Phase 4A project, construction crews will soon implement targeted lane closures to support key project activities. These closures are necessary to facilitate the transport of topsoil, conduct mass haul operations, perform area cleanup, and set structural beams. It is important to note that full closure of the left lanes is not anticipated. Efforts will be made to ensure that lane closures are coordinated to prevent conflicts within overlapping work zones.
Monday, November 24, through Wednesday, November 26:
• The northbound and southbound left lane of Dallas Pkwy from First St to FM 428 will be closed daily from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• All lanes of eastbound and westbound First St between northbound and southbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Tuesday, December 2, through Saturday, December 6:
• All lanes of eastbound and westbound First St between northbound and southbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• All lanes of eastbound and westbound Frontier Pkwy between northbound and southbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM
