Moshi Moshi

Restaurant Review

Wanna hang out with your friends and spend all your savings on rice and seafood? Well, Moshi Moshi seems like the best option to go whenever you want! This is an informal sushi restaurant that feets good to any occasion between 1:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (because those are the opening and closing times). With the objective of bringing to the place a more “Japanese style, ” you can find pictures of some anime characters throughout the place, a large bar with sake bottles and a quick look at the chefs’ workspace.
The restaurant’s concept is mainly focused on letting a piece of urban Japan into the customer. Most people actually know it as “the restaurant with that cute band that will go all the way across the restaurant transporting the sushi, ” although Moshi Moshi is more than that. Yes, it has technology: an effective automatic, metallic and wooden band that will take your wished roll to your table; however, Japan is not only sushi and anime. These are just the most popular subjects of the culture; therefore (and kind of unfortunately) they’ll notably be included in the restaurant’s concept.
The restaurant is a little hard to find because it is not near the fast food area, but it’s not too complicated. And although by the busiest hour, my family and I received decent attention, savoring each minute we spent tasting the vivid flavors of Moshi Moshi’s seafood and sushi rolls.
Have you ever wondered how exquisite a shrimp can be? Well, you actually could never picture the mixture of flavors that involves these special and only-findable-on-Moshi Moshi “Roca shrimps” . And the rolls? Well, you better get prepared by not eating for two full days before going to Moshi Moshi... Anyways, these “Roca shrimps” are probably my most favorite dish. The creamy-spicy sauce, which can be joined with some lemon drops, strongly bathes the seafood, meanwhile there’s a crunchy, yet chewy breaded texture hugging the sea savor of the shrimp. Every time you take a bite, the shrimp will pleasantly crumble on your tongue, making you
want to wish for a bigger stomach.
And just as this hard-to-forget plate exists, you can also find roll number 2! It is actually one of the least expensive rolls (priced by their dish color: green the less, orange the most, purple and blue between them). And one of the easiest to grab since it is lined by algae, followed by a perfect sticky rice slice with crab, cream cheese, avocado and pasta chipotle dressing. Harmonizing sweetly, each bite will take you to glory and take you out of it with the sugary-spicy touch of chipotle and avocado.
Of course you can not swallow food without a drink, and for that I’ve got the solution! Ask for a “Ramune Drink Flavored Original” and you could say you tasted Japanese childhood. This non-alcoholic and carbonated drink is served in a very curious bottle, which you’ll struggle opening the first time, but I’ll let you discover the science behind the magic. Even though Moshi has a minimalist style when plating, this is part of the simple and natural vibe of the restaurant. Lots of catchy, young, vivid culinary sensations are waiting for you to take a seat around their enormous sushi band and to enjoy a cute way of transporting a great variety of sushi rolls.
