Justification based off location:
» Candy store is timeless and caters to any race, gender, or age, as well as, won’t be affected as much by pandemic due to small accessability from online.

» Predominately white middle class.
» One candy shop two blocks away(catered more towards kids).
» Architectiral style late 19th century and 20th century revival, late victorian, and federal.

» Demographics age range is 35-65; making a great place to go with children.


• Technology such as robot arms can be utilized to pick candy that way there isn’t cross contamination and less hands on taking measures to prevent COVID.
• Materials should be durable and bleach cleanable especially due to COVID.
• Products can be viewed from the exterior to draw in customers.
RESEARCH SUMMARY:
• Wayfinding can be included by labeling tables and displays with the certain type of sweets.
• LED light bulbs will produce less heat preventing candy from melting.
THEORY:Splitcomplementary, : Orange symbolizes energy, excitement and warmth. Teal is a happy healthy color enjoying life, creates emotional balance. Pink promotes joy and creativity.
COLOR
• Flooring changes help guide the direction of the customer.
• Signage hanging above to have clear view.
• More accent lighting can be incorporated to showcase different types of sweets.
• Incorporate colors such as yellow, pink and blue which are fun and playful.
• Branding should introduce the aesthetic of the space.

• Products will contain a lot of color, therefore, all other colors should be more muted.
• Glass jars are a more elegant way to display product; table displays should be available for easy to grab items.

CONCEPT: Dissolving Architecture
From the start of candy making they would melt down honey which then changed to the melting process of sugar to create many different kinds of sweets today. This process a melting/ dissolving effect which can be interpreted into architecture. Goal is to incorporate the dissolving aspects of the candy in a less solid form. This helps the architecture to combine all three of the floors and allow them to flow harmoniously.
