Peace Proms 2013 Reunion Tickets for Peace Proms are available from the www.cboi.ie website and from Town Hall Theatre Galway. We will be performing at the Galway Silver concert in the Kingfisher Hall, Sunday 10th February at 7pm. Hope to see many of you there!

ACTIVITY WEEK Activity Week (YAY!!!) will run from February 11th to 13th. As always the children really look forward to it and enjoy this week. It is a great opportunity for parents to participate at whatever level they feel comfortable. Helping in class, demonstrating a craft, running a workshop on something that interests you, be it writing, art, science, music, sport, are only a few of the ways you can contribute. The possibilities are endless and teachers are only too glad to have your help! Please contact your child’s teacher and let them know you’d like to be part of “the best week ever”!!

Interested in some extra income? There will be a number of international students on teaching placement in the school in the final term. These students usually look for “ homestay” accommodation with families of children attending the school. It is up to the host family and student to agree on the cost and extent of meals etc. provided. The school is currently compiling a list of parents who would be willing to host the students. Once the list is finalised we will email it to the students, who then contact families directly. Please let us know at the office if you are interested. admin@getns.ie

Teaching and Learning Survey Thanks to all the parents who have taken the time to fill out the survey that went home last week. Your views and information are important to us as we draw up plans to continue improving standards throughout the school. If you have not returned the survey to us please do so tomorrow.

Family Contribution Each family is asked to make a voluntary contribution of €80 to help purchase resources for teaching and learning throughout the school. This is on top of the mandatory €50 for the book scheme, art & craft materials and photocopying. Due to cutbacks in the government contribution there is NO money to purchase teaching resources from the capitation grant. Thanks to all the families who have paid and we ask those who have not paid to make every effort to contribute what you can as a matter of urgency.
