Dear friends of Catholic Owned, Assumpta es Maria in coelum gaudent angeli!
Indeed, the dogma of the Assumption not only brought joy to the angels in Heaven but to the entire Church. It was proclaimed in 1950 by Pius XII. In the Papal Bull Munificentissimus Deus. The Holy Father declares:
"By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and by our own authority, we pronounce, declare and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma: that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.”
From the Old Testament we already know of Mary's participation in the work of her Son. In the New Testament we have a number of indications of Mary's co-operation with the redemptive mission of Jesus. In Jesus, there was neither sin nor death with its corruption but rather a victorious resurrection from the dead and an eternal glorification of this body
Bishop of Salamine He said "through her the Light has risen upon the world and God must have worked a great prodigy in her favor at the end of her life here on earth "
In Mary as co-redemptrix, there was no sin and her death was also without corruption soon to be followed by her glorious assumption in body and soul in an eternal union with her Son
The first person known to have asked about what happened to Mary's body was Saint Epiphanius,
The thought of Our Mother in body and soul in heaven, Our Mother of Sorrows who knows as no one else has ever known, what it is to suffer, who looks upon us with the same eyes with which she looked upon her Son on the cross. How appropriate this thought is to bring consolation and restore our peace and courage, particularly when we face temptations and the weaknesses of our body as we pilgrimage with trust and faith towards our heavenly home

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Self-Published Author, You Are More, LLC
Serving Clients in Multiple States
Offering therapy for individuals, couples & families.
Coaching for individuals
Coaching & Catholic Relationship
& Author
As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I offer therapy sessions for individuals, couples, and families. While I can provide in-person sessions in Indianapolis, IN, I continue to add to the list of states where I’m licensed to provide virtual sessions (so please reach out to see if your state is on my list)! I also provide coaching based on my book Single Truth For couples, I am trained in PREPARE/ENRICH, FOCUS/REFOCUS, SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts), and the Gottman Relationship Checkup. I’m expanding my speaking opportunities and would be honored to share my message with your church, business, organization or event
Through You Are More, LLC I bring faith to life and life to faith as I help individuals, couples, and families discover that they are not defined by their relationship status, job title, season in life, diagnosis, or any other box they feel stuck in. I do this through counseling, speaking, and writing. Ever since writing my book Single Truth: You are more than your relationship status, I wrote “You are more!” before every signature When I received a nudge to leave group practice after 10 years, I felt inspired to expand this signature phrase into a full-time endeavor Even if people do not work with me, I can encourage
them through the business name alone Not only are we more than our labels that get us stuck, God is more than anything that we face I never imagined I would be single in my mid30’s, but because of that I have developed a passion to bring hope to those whose hearts ache in their single season. Though I thoroughly enjoy working with couples and enriching relationship satisfaction, I find great purpose in connecting with the hearts of single people In both types of sessions, I validate feelings and experiences while helping clients to discover the meaning in their story.
In addition to my MA in marriage and family therapy, I also hold an MA in Theology from Notre Dame via the Echo Program. My experience of working in ministry informs the encounter I have with clients in the therapy room Our hearts are restless until we rest in God and there’s a more qualified counselor than me in the room --- the Holy Spirit. The first words of my first counseling class were, “Be still and know that I am God.” I don’t have all the answers, but I can connect clients with the One who does. Rarely do couples pray together so it’s been impactful for me to facilitate prayer in sessions to help them connect with God and one another more deeply
St Francis is my confirmation Saint and Assisi is one of my favorite places in the world. I get to take my fiancé there for our honeymoon later this year!
I’ve become more devoted to St. Joseph over the years and the 30 Day Prayer to St. Joseph never fails to astonish me!

1 We ought to honor and love the things that God loves and honors, and through which He i s loved and glorified Now, after the most adorable Heart of Jesus, there is no heart in heaven or on earth which has so loved and honored God, or has rendered Him so much glory and love, as the most worthy Heart of Mary, the Mother of the Saviour.
2. Who could possibly describe the ardent flames of love in the incomparable Heart of the Mother of God toward her Beloved Son Jesus? Count, if you can, all her thoughts, all her words, all her actions, labors, anxieties and vigilance in feeding, clothing, protecting and rearing our divine Saviour, and you will count so many reasons obliging us to love and praise her most amiable Heart
3. Count also all the thoughts, feelings and affections which filled her motherly Heart with regard to our salvation, and you will count so many obligations on our part to love and honor Mary.
4. Picture yourself the means employed by the Mother of mercy to cooperate with her Beloved Son our Saviour in the great work of the Redemption of the world, that is, her prayers, fasts, mortifications, tears, sufferings, and her most poignant sacrifice of her dear Son at the foot of the cross, her Heart utterly consumed with love and charity, and you must realize that all these facts are just so many additional obligations on our part to revere and love her most worthy Heart.
5. The holy name of Mary has always been so highly honored in the Church, that, according to Surius, St. Gerard, Bishop of Pannonia, ordered the people of his diocese to prostrate themselves on the ground at the mention of her holy name Blosius (1) reports that in his time it was the universal custom in the Church that, whenever the holy name of Mary was pronounced, everyone knelt, and all the faithful prayed, sighed and wept with most extraordinary devotion and fervor Ibis devotion is not dead, because the feast of the Holy Name of Mary is celebrated in a number of churches, especially i n the Order of the Redemption of Captives, where the office of her holy name is recited on all Saturdays not assigned to an office of nine lessons. If die venerable name of Mary he worthy of such great veneration, what honor should we not render to her Admirable Heart?
6 Holy Church never ceases to sing daily, in addressing the only Son of Mary, "Blessed is the womb that bore Thee, and the paps that gave Thee suck," (2) because we can never sufficiently praise and revere the consecrated womb in which she bore the Son of the eternal Father, nor the blessed breasts at which she nursed Him. What honor and praises should be given to her most worthy Heart?
7. According to the aspirations of St. Paul the hearts of the faithful become the abodes and dwellings of Jesus Christ, (3) and Christ Himself assures us that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit reside in the hearts of all who love God, (4) so who can doubt that the Most Blessed Trinity dwells perpetually in a
most admirable and ineffable manner in the virginal Heart of her who is the Daughter of the Father, the Mother of the Son and the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, Mary who alone loves God more than all other creatures combined? This being the case, with what devotion should we not honor her immaculate Heart?
8. If we are indebted to the holy Evangelists for having left us the written records of the life of our Redeemer and the mysteries of our Redemption, how much more do we owe to our most holy Mother for having preserved for us this precious treasure in her maternal Heart
9 Is it not we miserable sinners who pierced this most innocent Heart of Mary, at the time of the Passion of the Saviour, with countless thousands of shafts of sorrow by our innumerable sins? How greatly are we obliged, then, to render all the honor within our power in order to make some reparation for the most bitter anguish that we caused her loving Heart to suffer
10 The Admirable Heart of Mary is the perfect image of the most divine Heart of Jesus It is the pattern and model for our own hearts; and all our happiness, perfection and glory consists i n striving to transform them into so many living images of the sacred Heart of Mary, just as her holy Heart is a consummate likeness of the adorable Heart of Jesus. Therefore it is most useful, good and beneficial to exhort Christians to practise devotion to the most august Heart of the Queen of Heaven The sovereign devotion is to imitate what we honor, says St Augustine; (5) so who can fail to perceive that, in encouraging the faithful in devotion to the most amiable Heart of the Mother of God, we are also exhorting them to imitate the most eminent virtues that adorn it, to engrave its likeness on their own hearts and to render themselves worthy children of such a Mother?
11. Not only is the Heart of the Mother of Our Saviour the prototype and model of our own hearts, but her Heart, after the adorable Heart of Jesus, is also Sovereign Ruler of all the hearts that have been created to love God, since she is Queen of the universe For that reason all hearts should look upon and imitate the Heart of Mary as their model, but in addition they are obliged to render i t all the homage that they owe to it as to their Sovereign. 12. Finally consider all the attributes and perfections of the incomparable Heart of the Mother of Fair Love, and you must realize that there are just that number of reasons compelling us to praise, honor and love this most praiseworthy and lovable Heart
Last week we covered the next three promises that Our Lady makes to each person who takes up the devotion of praying the Rosary This week we examine three more-- three that have special significance when considering Eternity
8. Those who faithfully recite the Rosary shall have, during their life and at their death, the light of God and the plenitude of His graces. At the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.
The plenitude of His graces-- “That sounds quite nice, I’m in,” you might say. But what does plenitude actually mean? “An abundance; the condition of being full or complete.” (Oxford Languages).
So a plenitude of His graces means all or complete graces from God At the moment of death, this is truly the most that any individual sinner could dream to receive-- we simply could not ask for more
And Our Lady is promising we will receive that completeness of His graces if we take up the devotion of praying the Rosary
Let’s visit purgatory for a moment St Paul discusses how the works of men must be upon the foundation that is Christ and His Church And then each man’s work, on Judgement Day, “because it shall be revealed in fire; and the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is. If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.” -1 Corinthians 3:13-15. As we are out here living real life as devout Catholics, we definitely strive to be doing good works. And there are some that hope to skip Purgatory and go directly to Heaven, while others have concluded that all saved souls must pass through Purgatory In order to get out, we on earth must pray for them, offer Masses, do penance and make sacrifices to help them get out It isn’t clear the timeframe Our Lady is referring to when she promises to deliver her devotees from Purgatory However, considering the concept of being in a fire-filled place and passing through Next week we will examine more promises of the Rosary.
that fire and having all the Apostolic works of one’s life being tested by that fire, it doesn’t sound like a relaxing condition to be in. Further, with the promise of Paradise upon making it out of this fiery trial, one can easily argue than any millisecond of reduction of time required in Purgatory is worthy endeavor. The tenth promise refers to the degree of glory in Heaven. Now, getting to Heaven is the only goal, and living a life pleasing to God that honors Our Lady is how we do it. But there is more to the story-that is the part of Heaven where we end up. The Council of Trent (1545-1563): “Affirmed that the faithful will experience heaven differently, based on the merit of their good works, and anathematized those who taught differently” (Degree on Justification, Canon 32)
In all humility, one could realize that any degree of Heaven is more than any of us deserve, and that making it in only on the very outer portion right by the gate would be more than a poor sinner could ask for However, Our Lady promises us more-- a high degree of glory in Heaven What a gift, and a worthwhile reason to pray the rosary today, and everyday.
~St Paul of the Cross
"When you feel the assaults of passion and anger, then is the time to be silent as Jesus was silent in the midst of His ignominies and sufferings.”
~St. Ignatius Bryanchaninov (1807-1867)
"Grumbling and anger during sorrows and difficulties is a rejection of the Cross."
It’s a really special time at Catholic Owned, and we are so glad you are here with us.
This week, we celebrate the Assumption of Our Blessed Mother and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, both during the month of the Immaculate Heart.
Catholic Owned began in August of 2023, with the first “market research” style interviews taking place on August 13-16 that year. (If you are one of those who spoke with us back then, thank you!!)
As a company, we are consecrated to the Immaculate Heart, and this is truly her company. So when we get to special Marian feast days, and especially this one, we are always so glad to celebrate.
The important work that the Immaculate Heart has done in our lives personally, in the life of this company and the souls we have reached so far, and the many more who we have yet to reach, leaves us without words, and with only gratitude
At Fatima, Our Blessed Mother asked for us to pray the Rosary, and to practice the Five First Saturdays devotion, and to do these things in a spirit of
reparation So, when Matteo & I were asked to leave everything behind and to begin Building the New Catholic Economy, it only made sense for us to do this work in reparation for the many sins and blasphemies against her Immaculate Heart. Time and time again, we receive consolations and signal graces that we are on the right track-bringing on businesses and App Users who are looking for them, getting plugged into local communities across the country, and friends referring friends from many states.
It’s vital that we always keep our hearts and minds united to and focused on the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who always leads us to her Son.
It isn’t always easy to do that when focusing every waking moment on work and family, but in another way, it makes all the work much easier to navigate and the long task list somehow seem more manageable I hope that you find similar support in devotion to Our Blessed Mother and her Immaculate Heart
