BiKBBI PARTNERS UP WITH TRADING STANDARDS The BiKBBI has announced that it’s become a Primary Authority Partner with Nottinghamshire County Council Trading Standards. The partnership with Trading Standards provides a single pathway between the two organisations, promoting best practice with members and access to training, development, regulatory advice and guidance including support with compliance in line with one of the BiKBBI’s core objectives. Primary Authorities provide advice to businesses that other local regulators must respect on compliance with the regulations. The scheme is overseen by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) and BiKBBI now appear on the Primary
Authority Register, after being nominated by The Secretary of State. Commenting on the partnership, BiKBBI CEO, Damian Walters, said: “We have formed a number of strategic partnerships and I’m delighted that our new relationship with Nottinghamshire County Council Trading Standards will support our efforts towards compliance as it’s a hot topic within the industry.” One of the first areas of support that Trading Standards have supported BiKBBI with is the development of a model Contract for Service between members and their customers, helping members to set solid contractual foundations with their customers.
