It was only in September that the new electric sports car from Porsche celebrated its high-profile premiere on three continents simultaneously. Now, the company is already presenting the third version of the sports saloon with the Taycan 4S. The new model is available with two battery sizes and delivers with the Performance battery up to 390 kW (530 PS) or with the Performance battery Plus up to 420 kW (571 PS). Following the Taycan Turbo S and the Taycan Turbo, the Taycan 4S is therefore the new entry-level model in the series. A single-deck Performance battery with a total capacity of 79.2 kWh comes as standard. The two-deck Performance battery Plus familiar from the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo is optionally available. The total capacity here is 93.4 kWh. 0-100 KM/H IN 4.0 SECONDS Breathtaking acceleration, tractive power typical of sports cars and outstanding continuously available power – the new model 4S also features these strengths of the Taycan. In both variants, the Taycan 4S accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h in both cases. The range is up to 407 kilometres with the Performance battery and up to 463 kilometres with the Performance battery Plus – the highest value of the current Taycan range. With its clear, puristic design, the Taycan signals the beginning of a new era. At the same time, it retains the unmistakable Porsche design DNA. From the front, it looks particularly wide and flat with highly contoured wings. The silhouette is shaped by the sporty roof line sloping downward to the rear. The highly sculpted side sections are also characteristic. The sleek cabin, the drawn-in rear C-pillar and the pronounced shoulders of the wings result in a sharply emphasised rear, typical of the brand. There are also innovative elements such as the glass-effect Porsche logo, which has been integrated into the light bar at the rear. 

NEW ERA The cockpit also signals the start of a new era with its clear structure and completely new architecture. The free-standing, curved instrument cluster forms the highest point on the dashboard. This places a clear focus on the driver axis. A central 10.9-inch infotainment display and an optional passenger display are combined to form an integrated glass band in a black-panel look.

Andalucia a Tax Haven!? only managed to keep Zimbabwe under his thrall for 37 years!! To everyone’s surprise, the new right wing coalition Government has actually kept its election promise to reduce tax. As a result, Andalucía is fast changing from one of the worst places to live from a tax perspective to one of the best, and in many ways more attractive than the UK, nearby Portugal and Madrid.

Well, it may seem unbelievable, but yes. One of the promises made by the rightwing parties during the December 2018 Andalucía elections was to reduce taxes. We all know that politicians like to promise to reduce taxes whilst increasing public spending but one of the few things that the three right wing parties had in common was to eliminate wealth and inheritance/gift taxes to make Andalucía more attractive. Between 1978 and 2018, Andalucía had been under the control of the PSOE, Spain’s main socialist party. That’s 40 years under the control of one party. This beats even Robert Mugabe who

INHERITANCE TAX The first big change is to inheritance and gift tax, which took place on 11 April 2019. Inheritances and gifts between spouses, parents and children, now have a 99% reduction of the final tax payable. Added to the 1 million deduction per beneficiary means that most taxpayers will not pay any tax. Tax free gifts results in the transfer of property by gift will now cost 1 % instead of the 8%-10% tax currently charged for other types of transfer. INCOME TAX 50% of income tax is ceded to the Spanish regions, which establish their own tax bands and rates. The new tax changes reduce the number of tax rates both for low income earners (less than 12.450 €) and high-income earners (exceeding 120.000 €). These changes will take place over the next four years, aligning Andalucia with Madrid, which

currently has the lowest income tax rates in Spain. WEALTH TAX The only tax that has not yet been subject to a formal announcement is wealth tax, which remains a significant issue for wealthy individuals. This tax was introduced as an emergency measure in 1979 and it seems that the country has been in a state of emergency ever since…..! A 100% exemption was introduced in 2008 (great timing!) but reversed in 2011 “because of an economic emergency”. State legislation already exists that eliminates this tax by default for the whole of Spain on 1 January 2020. The November elections may change this, so we have to wait to see what happens… IN SUMMARY No inheritance or gift tax, maximum taxes of 23% for investment income and capital gains tax, 19% on residential property income and as little as 3% on personal pension income and, with any luck, no wealth tax from 2020. That makes Andalucia almost a tax haven! Madrid remains attractive but does not have the beaches, bars, social life and golf that makes Andalucia so attractive to foreigners and Madrileños alike.

The Ferrari F40 (Type F120) is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car built from 1987 to 1992, with the LM and GTE race car versions continuing production until 1994 and 1996 respectively. It was designed to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary and was the last Ferrari automobile personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. At the time it was Ferrari’s fastest, most powerful, and most expensive car for sale. Development work on the Ferrari 288 GTO had resulted in the 288 GTO Evoluzione, a car that offered a very clear visual and technical link to the F40. The original intention had been to race against the Porsche 959 in Group B, however the FIA shut down all Group B competition in 1986 – leaving Ferrari with a racing car that had no series to compete in. A MARKET FOR AN EXTREME CAR It was decided to create an iterative development of the 288 GTO Evoluzione and make it road legal – but keep it as true to its origins as possible. The staggering success of the original Ferrari 288 GTO with both collectors and speculators had shown Ferrari that there would be a market for an extreme car with a price tag approaching $1,000,000 USD. The 40th anniversary of the marque was also approaching, and Enzo likely knew that he didn’t have many years left at the helm of Ferrari due to his advancing years. These factors both contributed to the development of the F40. The “F” stands for Ferrari, and the “40” stands for the 40 years of operation. Rather than follow the likes of Porsche with the route taken with the space-age 959, Ferrari decided to go the other way, and create a car that was a pure driving experience with no electronic aids and very few creature comforts. 

NO EXTRAS When you bought one new the F40 came with no spare tire or jack, no stereo or glove box, there was also no trunk or cigarette lighter. Perhaps surprisingly it could be ordered with air conditioning, though this may have been a matter of necessity as the heat generated by the engine was significant – particularly in warmer climates. The chassis was a steel space frame, suspension was unequal-length wishbones with coil springs over telescopic shock absorbers both front and rear, and there were no ABS, no power steering, no power brakes, and nothing other than metal, hydraulic fluid, and rubber between the driver and the asphalt. 

The property consists of three storeys and a basement. Once we had the main distribution and layout right, we began with the interior design of the various spaces. Our client’s request was to achieve an elegant yet masculine interior reminiscent of a James Bond mood setting, and furthermore maintain the spaces light and fresh to keep it contemporary. In the basement we designed a bar area that looks out into the garage where cars will be showcased. Also, in the basement a gym and a boardroom have been carefully designed so that each space can live in harmony with the other, always mindful of privacy, practicality and design. Each of these spaces was designed by Ambience and installed by our carpenters. We designed French wall panels in some of the rooms to define that look and used other materials such as Calacatta Gold Marble, Black Marquina marble, aged brass, etc. to contrast. A beautiful fish-bone floor was our choice throughout. The ground floor TV lounge used to have a dark feel to it and the team changed this by placing a long light sofa flanked by two beautiful carved armchairs. Touches of lovely green tones can be found on the chesterfield pouffe, coffee tables and cushions, leaving the fireplace with integrated storage to be the focal point in the room. On the first floor we have a small reception area with a loveseat opposite the fireplace also designed by Ambience, where a stunning black piano contrasts beautifully against the light oak fish-bone wooden floor. The upstairs lounge is more of a formal smaller seating area, with two Chesterfield Desiree sofas lending a welcoming yet modern look to the space.



The master bedroom has its own terrace which we kept stylish and subdued while the en-suite bathroom is vibrant with its dark walls. The bathtub area frames the sea view beautifully and sits on an elegant black Marquina marble slab that continues its way on to the floor. We chose rose gold taps to contrast with the stunning mosaic tiles selected. We were very happy to see our client’s reaction when he saw the conversion of his villa; it also space shows that even the most dark and gloomy properties can be turned into a beautiful home. LOOK OUT FOR RADAR ON COSTA DEL SOL

The hire car companies on the Costa del Sol are experiencing a high amount of traffic fines being drawn up against their rented cars. This is much due to the lowered limits that applies to the radars and above all for hire car companies with much traffic to and from Malaga airport as all cars driving the Coast road A7 (old N340) are passing the zone radar in the Faro/Mijas stretch. This radar measures the average speed for aprox 5km between aprox km 200.4 y 204.8. The speed limit is only 80 km/h and the radar will jump at 88 km/h. The person hiring the car is responsible for the fines. If it comes from a radar it will be sent to the rent a car company, they will identify the driver and the fine will be sent to the clients home address. If no possibility to identify the driver it will be charged to the credit card used for the contract. If pulled by the Traffic police you can pay the fine on the spot with card or cash and get a 50% reduction.

Let’s forget about the awesome grunt, power and sound from C63S super car & let’s focus on what I think was needed being a person who has for many years tested & owned Mercedes sports cars. The first main factor is the all new nine-speed MCT gearbox with a wet clutch, which replaces the old and heavier torque converter seven-speed gearbox. Mercedes head office say it offers faster shifts and has also implemented a double-declutching feature in Sport and Sport+ modes, these modes I love even for town driving. The nine-stage traction control system also makes its debut on this car, stage one is programmed for driving in the wet with high safety reserves, while the most aggressive setting, stage nine, allows maximum slip on the rear axle. WHAT´S IT LIKE TO DRIVE? It’s a an absolutely thrilling machine this and yes, the V8 engine dominates the experience like a slice of pineapple on a Pizza Tropicana . The C63 felt positive on initial turns in and never felt unsettled by the crazy elevation changes of power or even by the quick turns on the road going up to the town of Ronda that can leave you panting like a Labrador. I must say the gear changes feel more rapid on this newer model, & this car, it simply eats up the roads. With the new steering wheel, digital cockpit and minor exterior changes, this has brought the car in line with any super car that seats 4, the sounds are brilliant, and it is perilously fast. The C63 S is a no brainer. 

To improve the general posture of the body, bringing a neutral position to our spine and the extremities, which are fundamental to ensure proper workouts are injury free. HOW TO DESIGN A PROGRAM FOR YOUR CORE There are a lot of fancy exercises to use at the moment when we are talking about core training. In my experience, it’s preferable to start with the basic ones putting the focus on the performance and concentrating mentally on the area we are trying to reach. EXERCISE 1 - FRONT LAY PLANK Position: Lying down on the stomach completely, extend using the back of the hands as a pillow for the forehead. Lift your belly button up away from the floor and at the same time keeping your spine as extended as possible, ensuring proper activation of the deep abdominal muscles.

EXERCISE 2 - BACK LAY PLANK Position: Lying down on your back with the knees flexed, the head and neck extended on the floor, try to move the belly button in towards the lower back. As this move continues, you’ll feel how the deeper abs get a really good workout coupled with a nice stretch around the lower back. EXERCISE 3 - SIDE PLANK Position: Start from a lying side position with your feet together, push yourself up using one arm, keeping it in line with your shoulder and supporting your weight – feet still on the floor, one lying on top of another. Contract your core and raise your hips until your body is in a straight line from head to feet. Ensure a proper posture, holding your core in. When doing these exercises, build the time up gradually to achieve a safe progression and without getting too fancy! This is just a brief description and one of the ways to bring awareness to our core area. We would love to share more information with you during our future articles. However, we will always answer your questions in our super-friendly, personal-training gym, Health First Studio, located in La Campana.
