The Carol Stream Parks Foundation Bike Riding Club is comprised of a group of recreational bike riders of all levels who want to explore our unique access to bike trails in DuPage County and Kane County. All rides take place on offroad bike paths We ride as a group and no riders are ever left behind No experience is needed but bike helmets are strongly encouraged All Rides leave from Simkus Recreation Center

Departure Times

Departure times listed for each trip reflect the time when the bus departs Always arrive five to ten minutes early in order to check in and board the bus Seating is first come, first served Specific individual seats are not reserved for participants See Accessibility section if you have a medical need that requires specific seating

Payments

Registrants are required to either pay in full or enroll in a payment plan and complete an Automatic Payment Request form at the time of registration If enrolling in a payment plan, payments for trips are withdrawn from the account listed on the Automatic Payment Request form on the payment due date for each trip If a due date has passed, you may still enroll in the trip if space is available, payment is then due at registration Enroll in the waitlist for a trip any time at no fee

Trip Cancellations

Withdrawals should be requested prior to the payment deadline

If you can no longer attend after the deadline, withdrawals are only processed if a participant on the waitlist takes your spot or if you find a replacement There is no guarantee that a waitlist replacement can be found after the due date has passed If a friend is taking your place on the trip, a signed waiver and payment are due before your withdrawal can be processed Passengers not on our roster are not permitted to attend Refer to our Refund and Withdrawal Policy

All curriculum is based on the Ellis & Associates lifeguard course Dryland training includes three levels of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants, as well as first aid, the Heimlich maneuver, defibrillation, and scanning drills, as well as the use of certain equipment such as lifeguard tube, and automated external defibrillator (AED), and oxygen Basic rescues, GID (guest in distress) drills, lifeguard chair jumps, rapid extrications, and spinals will all be part of the in-water training Participants must have a water bottle, towel, swimsuit/swim trunks, and a snack (no nuts) All participants receive a certificate of completion and a whistle to keep.

Springers Tryout

Monthly payments are drafted the fifteenth of each month for the following month Additional competition and team attire fees apply Meets take place from October-May Springers compete in 5-10 competitions including sectionals and state meets Super Stars require a $75 individual choreography fee, which includes two hours of private instruction Routines are used for two years

Advanced registration of seven days is required before your child's first attendance day A minimum of four weeks' notice is required if your child needs one-on-one assistance from a WDSRA support staff An automatic payment request form is required for all enrollments Completion of e-PACT information is required prior to attending the Before & After School program Returning participants must reconfirm all e-PACT information If requesting registration within seven days, supervisor approval is required and a $5 enrollment change/late registration fee per child is charged However last minute changes cannot always be accommodated

Payment

A nonrefundable enrollment fee and your first month’s payment are due at registration. All subsequent payments are drafted one month in advance from August-May. Payments vary from month to month based on the number of attendance days. The enrollment fee is $55 per child by June 30 and $70 per child beginning July 1. Payment amounts & draft dates are listed on your receipt. Lack of payment will jeopardize participation in the program View the parent handbook for additional policies and procedures

Schedules

Enrollment can begin at any time Participants must sign up for the same schedule for the entire school year Individual date selections are not permitted, however daily flex passes for occasional care are available New enrollments, schedule changes, and withdrawals requested less than seven days in advance require supervisor approval and a late registration/enrollment change fee to be paid per child A fee is applied for all schedule changes after the initial registration

Early Release Days

There are six new CCSD93 early release days for the 2025-2026 school year The Activkids program will begin at 12:00pm on these days If these early release days fall within a participant’s regular schedule, they will automatically be registered for the additional time If those days are not part of a participant’s regular schedule, a flex pass can be purchased for any day care is needed

Snack is provided in After Care each day.

School Closing & Program Cancellations

If CCSD93 announces an unscheduled late start, early dismissal, cancellation of all before/after school activities, or closes for any reason including weather, or emergency due to unforeseen circumstances, ActivKids Before and After School will also be canceled or closed No credits are issued for these days Fees are subject to change If additional school days get added Fees will be applied accordingly

Meet and Greet

The meet and greet is a set time where players, parents and coaches meet each other and hand out any necessary information and in some cases receive their uniforms

Player Evaluations

Players get rated based on each skill set for that particular sport for the draft/team placement Drafts are typically for ages 10U and above All players are encouraged to attend

Placed on a Specific Team

Due to the nature of the program, we cannot accept any coach, player or carpool requests However, one mutual friendship request is honored for players in any youth sports league for 2nd grade/8U and younger along with youth volleyball Request deadlines are the same as registration deadlines (not an early bird)

Players placed on a waitlist are not guaranteed placement on a team Team placement will only be done when a team is below the established maximum number of participants

Players will not be added to any team one week prior to the first scheduled game With programs that provide uniforms there could be a delay in getting your uniform in on time

For all other leagues, playing up is allowed by one age or grade level Any player seeking to play up must get permission from the league supervisor prior to registration Any participant playing up must also register in person

Registration

Participants needing WDSRA inclusion support (one-on-one aide) must register at least two weeks in advance If enrolling within two weeks of the start date, participation may be delayed until an aide can be secured by WDSRA If your preferred class is full, register for the waitlist

Additional classes or instructors may be added 1-3 weeks prior to the session starting

Participants cannot register for a specific instructor Staffing assignments are not finalized until the start of the season

Class Levels

All swimmers must register based on their age and skill level

Refer to the program description for the necessary skills by level All skills should be mastered prior to advancing to a higher level

For returning swimmers, refer to the progress report for the approved class

Swimmers will be evaluated during the first class and may be required to move up or down a level due to their skills and comfort in the water

Siblings cannot be enrolled in the same class if they do not meet the age and skill requirements

Class Procedures

Participants should arrive in their swimsuit prior to the class start time and wait in the pool hallway for the instructor to take them to the pool deck

Swimmers should bring a towel Goggles and swim caps are not required but both are permitted

Parents, guardians, and siblings are not permitted on the pool deck or bleachers and they may not assist in the pool Family members can watch from the hallway only For Parent Tot classes, only one parent/guardian may participate in the class Class sizes vary by age and skill level Occasionally classes may have two instructors and a larger number of swimmers Approximate class ratios, subject to change, are:

The Carol Stream Park District’s Swim Academy has a variety of swim lessons for all ages, starting at six months old through teens and adults

Swimmers are evaluated for swim level placement, and lessons are conducted in either the 25-yard lap pool or therapy pool at Fountain View Recreation Center depending on swimmer level or at Coral Cove Water Park

Absences

The instructor and supervisor do not need to be notified regarding an absence Classes begin as scheduled regardless of if all swimmers are present Make-ups, credits, and refunds are not offered due to absences of any sort, including illness and vacation

Withdrawals

Refunds and credits are not offered after the second class If withdrawing prior to the second class, a prorated credit to the participant’s park district account is available If a prorated refund is preferred, a 10% service fee is applied Credits and refunds are prorated to only include future dates Previous dates, whether they were attended or not, may not be credited or refunded

Dolphins Swim Team Assessment

All new swimmers are required to complete an assessment to ensure they are on the appropriate team Each swimmer is assessed by a Swim Team coach and provided feedback

Registration

A payment plan is available An automatic payment request form must be completed at the time of registration if not paying in full Payments are split evenly by month

Payment plan draft dates: May 1, June 1, July 1 If enrolling after May 1, the first payment is due at registration

A $100 volunteer deposit is due at registration (one fee per household) The volunteer deposit is refunded at the end of the season only if all volunteer requirements were fulfilled

Participants needing WDSRA inclusion support (one-on-one aide) must register at least two weeks in advance If enrolling within two weeks of the start date, participation may be delayed until an aide can be secured by WDSRA

Swim Meets

June 9-July 25 (M/T/W/F) 7:45-8:45 am

June 9-July 25 (M/T/W/F) 6-7:30 am

Dolphins compete in the DuPage Swim & Dive Conference, along with 12 other park district teams

Meets take place from June-July on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings

Team members may not compete until they can swim at least 25 yards without stopping

Meet fees are included in the program registration fee

Swimmers do not need to compete in all meets A minimum of three meets is required to qualify for Divisionals

Absences

Make-ups, credits, and refunds are not offered due to absences of any sort, including illness and vacation

If a swimmer will miss multiple practices, the supervisor should be notified

No Practice Dates

Practices are not held May 24-26 and July 4-6
