YOUTH ATHLETIC LEAGUE FAQ'S

Playing Up

Meet and Greet

The meet and greet is a set time where players, parents and coaches meet each other and hand out any necessary information and in some cases receive their uniforms

Player Evaluations

Players get rated based on each skill set for that particular sport for the draft/team placement. Drafts are typically for ages 10U and above. All players are encouraged to attend.

Placed on a Specific Team

Due to the nature of the program, we cannot accept any coach, player or carpool requests. However, one mutual friendship request is honored for players in any youth sports league for 2nd grade/8U and younger along with youth volleyball. Request deadlines are the same as registration deadlines (not an early bird).

FRIENDSHIP REQUEST

Registrations Deadlines

Players placed on a waitlist are not guaranteed placement on a team. Team placement will only be done when a team is below the established maximum number of participants. Players will not be added to any team one week prior to the first scheduled game. With programs that provide uniforms there could be a delay in getting your uniform in on time.

Playing up is not allowed for instructional soccer or tee-ball. For all other leagues, playing up is allowed by one age or grade level. Any player seeking to play up must get permission from the league supervisor prior to registration. Any participant playing up must also register in person.

Parent Code Conduct

By registering your child you agree to comply with the Parent Code of Conduct.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsor your child's team - Contact Community Relations: Pam Falco for sponsorship and advertising opportunities. pamf@csparks.org or 630-784-6123.

Registration

Participants needing WDSRA inclusion support (one-on-one aide) must register at least two weeks in advance. If enrolling within two weeks of the start date, participation may be delayed until an aide can be secured by WDSRA. If your preferred class is full, register for the waitlist. Additional classes or instructors may be added 1-3 weeks prior to the session starting.

Participants cannot register for a specific instructor. Staffing assignments are not finalized until the start of the season.

Class Levels

All swimmers must register based on their age and skill level. Refer to the program description for the necessary skills by level. All skills should be mastered prior to advancing to a higher level.

For returning swimmers, refer to the progress report for the approved class.

Swimmers will be evaluated during the first class and may be required to move up or down a level due to their skills and comfort in the water.

Siblings cannot be enrolled in the same class if they do not meet the age and skill requirements.

Class Procedures

Participants should arrive in their swimsuit prior to the class start time and wait in the pool hallway for the instructor to take them to the pool deck.

Swimmers should bring a towel. Goggles and swim caps are not required but both are permitted. Parents, guardians, and siblings are not permitted on the pool deck or bleachers and they may not assist in the pool. Family members can watch from the hallway only. For Parent Tot classes, only one parent/guardian may participate in the class. Class sizes vary by age and skill level. Occasionally classes may have two instructors and a larger number of swimmers. Approximate class ratios, subject to change, are:

The Carol Stream Park District’s Swim Academy has a variety of swim lessons for all ages, starting at six months old through teens and adults. Swimmers are evaluated for swim level placement, and lessons are conducted in either the 25-yard lap pool or therapy pool at Fountain View Recreation Center depending on swimmer level or at Coral Cove Water Park.

The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage! Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life.
