This bulletin is produced by students of the Journalism class at Colegio Bolivar during the three days they attend the debates held by the CB MUN commissions. Their main job is to prepare a daily report of the commissions. The result of this exercise is published every day on the virtual portal called tribuweb and on the Model's web page. The young journalists also prepare interviews and opinion articles that gather different views and experiences of the participants, which can be found on tribuweb.

The presidents presented the next crisis that the delegates are going to debate on.

The chair starts entertaining motions and the debate starts.

The delegate from Poland is recognized and starts his argument about the war. He focuses on the fact that millions of Ukranians have been forcely displaced from their homes, millions of people have also been murdered and masacred just because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The delegation of Russia claims that he is being attacked by NATO and especially by the United States. The delegate from Ukraine makes use of the floor and he suggests that they take out Russia from the United Nations Security Council.

The Bieloruss delegate makes an intervention defending the Russian fornces along with their own, she claims that the discrimination of the western countries has been horrific and inhuman against the Russian and Bielorussian people. Delegates from countries such as Ukraine, and Germany question and respond to the delegate from Bielorrusia.

The delegates are resuming their previous topic of Nazi Germany’s rapid global domination. The objective of the meeting is to seek peace, end the killing and torturing of the Jewish population before Nazi Germany carries out its merciless plans any further. Nevertheless, Germany was able to expand its territory as Yugoslavia, Poland, and Austria became allies. In addition to this, Nazi officers captured the delegate of Yehudim and took him to their concentration camps where he was tortured, leaving him in critical condition. The United States rescued him and brought the delegate back.

The delegate of the Soviet Union makes a valid point to the ISCS treaty: how can an organization be an organization if they are not willing to include all the nations. France responds and says that every country is invited to join as long as “they have a peaceful purpose.” That being said, China, Yehudim, the Soviet Union, and Turkey joined the ISCS. The nations unite to question Hitler’s purpose against the inhumane treatment against the Jews as they are, just as everybody else, human beings.

All delegates were introduced to a new topic, where they discuss the war between Russia and Ukraine in the future. This is why the alliance of Ukraine and the rest of its western countries sent those in crisis to make a presence to remind the delegates of Russia and China how miserable the citizens of Ukraine are.

The delegate of Nazi Germany claims it was “protecting its people” via these ghettos as these are a way of “cleansing the parasites.” To this the delegate adds that “the ends justifies the means” as “having Hitler as the ultimate leader” will “benefit everyone.” The United Kingdom along with its allies

The delegation of Ukraine strongly encourages the whole commission that violence isn’t a solution, that everybody should consider a peace treaty and a change in decision. Since, as the delegation of Ukraine has said, there is no time, people are dying and being massacred, therefore, act.

Íngrid Betancourt declaró que ella no apoya el fracking porque va en contravía de los compromisos que tienen con el medio ambiente y que es algo completamente innecesario (Ecopetrol no lo necesita). Enrique Gómez afirmó que el fracking es fundamental para la economía ya que es el pilar de la economía del país y que hay otras 10 mil maneras de ayudar al medio ambiente. Sergio Fajardo manifestó que él no apoya el fracking porque los efectos de esta técnica producen incertidumbre, que hay otras opciones para lograr los mismo objetivos y que no van a permitir que una técnica que afecta tanto al

El día de ayer se terminó el debate con los candidatos discutiendo sobre el tema de seguridad. El candidato Enrique Gómez propuso reforzar el SMAT; Federico Gutiérrez mencionó su apoyo al SMAT con la condición de que estos cumplan los derechos humanos; Sergio Fajardo expuso la importancia de

Rodolfo Hernández dijo que está en contra del fracking pero que sí considera que hay que organizar unos pilotos sobre la posibilidad de implementarlo. Gustavo Petro mencionó que está completamente en contra del fracking y que van acabar con este porque con esta medida “se hipoteca el futuro”.

Añaden también que estarían buscando pasar a utilizar energías sustentables pero confían en la situación de recursos minerales para poder hacer una transición más suave a energías renovables (el desarrollo económico del país se vería muy afectado con un cambio tan brusco como lo sería la eliminación inmediata del fracking).

El debate continuó tratando el tema del medio ambiente con cada candidato, fórmula presidencial y periodistas, en general, discutieron sobre sus diferentes posiciones y cuestionaron las posiciones de los otros.

Después de presentar sus respuestas a esta pregunta relacionada con el fracking, los periodistas preguntaron sobre la posición de los candidatos frente a la utilización de glifosato para la erradicación de cultivos ilícitos. Rodolfo Hernández afirmó que está a favor del glifosato para darle control al narcotráfico pero que deben pensarse otras opciones.

In today’s meeting, the leaders while trying to resolve the incoming crisis: the Palestinian-Israeli War, inevitably carried on with their ongoing debate of “what religion is better.” The leaders of the world resulted in calling each other’s religion “mediocre”, “crazy”, and “nonsense.”

Regardless, if the leaders do not agree with the solution they came up with, they are open to discuss with other leaders to seek for peace.

Just as the leaders finally were getting somewhere close to agreeing to a specific solution, once again the conflict between religion interfered, making it impossible to resolve this conflict as each leader has different points of views and different beliefs. The leaders must keep in mind for future comiteees that it is necessary to put their ideals aside in order to find a solution for a global problem.

The conflict extended, leaders kept going astray from their purpose of finding a solution to this crisis and continued to criticize each other’s religious beliefs. Xi Jinping contributing to the back and forth insults, not only stated that its citizens won’t be able to have a religion of their own as it creates conflict between each other, but also decided to declare a war to Adolf Hitler for idolizing one religion.

Moments later, Saladin declares a duel against Pope Urban II because he was about to begin the Sixth Cursade to fight for the Holyland. Jesus Christ standed in the middle, claiming that violence should never be the answer and he would pray for their hearts to follow God. Subsequently, Pope Urban II and Donald Trump made an intervention together in which they raise a prayer for all the Americans who died because of the Muslims actions, condemning their religion for the massive killings. Finally, no conclusions were reached, but there were interesting reflections on the impact of cyber-attacks on countries and citizens, the involvement of countries in cyber-warfare; specifically with regard to investments in military cyber-infrastructure and responsibility in the attacks.

In recent years, the world has seen the

rapid development of Artificial Intelligence. As a result, many countries are rushing to gain a global edge in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation because they recognize that AI is a critical technology that can enhance competitiveness, increase productivity, defend national security, and help solve social problems. However, a new problem has emerged: countries cannot seem to find a way to regulate the risks associated with AI without affecting their policy or halting the overall development of the technologies.

Yesterday, the comission had one of the most tense moments in the whole model: the delegate of the United States was asssinated. After a tense debate in regards to organ trafficking, a declaration of war and this crisis that unleashed heated arguments and even more hostility, the delegates entered lobby time to discuss and create the resolution papers. They were divided into two blocks: block 2.1 y and 2.2.

Today's discussion focused on developing resolutions about the use of science and technology for the development of humanity. In that line of ideas some delegates exposed information that may affect different governments that put the world balance at risk.

Block 2.1 was composed by the delegations of the United States, China, Japan, Israel, South Africa and the other delegations that were not a part of block 2.2. In their resolution papers they proposed artificial organs as the future of

_____________________________________________ medicine and the solution to organ trafficking. They also mentioned that organ trafficking has violated many ethical standards and major human rights which is why it is essential to find a way to end this illegal activity.

Remembering that yesterday the commission began with the second topic, prison reform, the session closed off with a new delegation in the commission. A Human Rights representative caused a great commotion. They made multiple great interventions pointing out some delegations were forgetting their priority of protecting life above all else. Regarding China’s death penalty and USA’s solitary confinement, the HRC Representative was especially discomforted about it.

After the end of the presentation of the resolution paper 2.1, the block 2.2, composed of North Korea, Russia, Iran and Lybia, presented their paper where they declared that organized crime is a very big issue and must be dealt with because this will also end organ trafficking. They also asked and encouraged donations from other delegations for research to start implementing transplants from animals to humans. They also declared that they believe artificial organs are a great solution to replace and eradicate organ trafficking.

The most radical views come from developing countries and developed countries such as the USA and France.

Delegations such as Cuba and the Philippines claim they don’t have the monetary resources to even think about prison reform and argue that prison systems from countries such as the USA and China are inhumane and need to change to stop the constant human rights violations.

In a heated debate, the delegation of the Philippines proposed a motion to suspend the delegations of France and the USA, however, this was not passed through the chair.

_____________________________________________ intervention, North Korea argued that prisoners are burdens and invited all delegations to clean their societies of “the trash that prisoners are.”

The chair decided on a lobby time of 10 minutes and also decided resolution papers would not be required for this topic due to time restraints.

After the end of a 30-minute unmoderated caucus, the commission received breaking news.

The United States delegation argues that the woman in the headline deserved this destiny due to the fact that she committed a crime, she lost all her human rights so as a consequence she died this way. To this, the delegate of the Philippines defended human rights and was in complete disagreement with the USA.

Biological Weapons in the World Sala de redacción

The theme of today's commission was the outlawing of the advancement, production and storage of biological weapons and destructive toxins. In today's discussion delegates from different countries debated biological weapons in the world. The representatives, in general, had many different points of view, for example, North Korea and China are known to have such weapons but their government censored internal information and denied having them.

The United States delivered a rather radical intervention.

The Philippines asked the United States the following: “Is a mother of 6 a monster for trying to protect her children?”

To which the USA replied “Yes.” Insight of such words, the delegation of the Bahamas made a motion to add this to the record.

_____________________________________________ throughout the entire discussion and time constraints, there was a lot of argumentative potential in the delegates; everyone was very active during the day.

The country representatives were very well informed and made interesting interventions that allowed them to reach a consensus.

The committee chairs highlighted the progress made by the participants between yesterday and today. There were even changes in the point of view of some who yesterday were completely against biological weapons, such as the United States, and today ended up making many accusations and threats to use them if other delegates were present.

The balance about the debate is positive due to the clarity in the handling of the issue, and although they did not reach a concrete conclusion, they reached a consensus on the idea that biological weapons are not the way to solve problems between governments as they can cause great humanitarian damage, they can create a global crisis.

involve international organizations in protests were not approved. What was an achievement was the agreement on the autonomy of countries to request international support when they have difficulties related to vandalism and crime.

Most protests around the world stem from a dissatisfaction with the political aspect of society, making politics the number one cause of protests worldwide. However, the problem is not that citizens have decided to protest, but rather it is the way in which states are handling these demands that is of concern.

Many of the mass rallies have led governments to take direct action to put down the protests, which often end up violating many human rights.

A consensus was reached to decriminalize social protests in some countries and to receive constant international accompaniment.

However, it is more complex than it might seem as there is no clear line separating peaceful protests from those that may end up having a negative impact on society. Some countries have managed social protests well, while others are increasing the reasons why citizens protest.

In today's discussion, the commission finalized the resolution of the working papers and finally produced a document.

During the day it was evident the knowledge that the delegates of the countries have on the subject, their attitude and disposition reflects that they prepared very well to expose their positions on social protests.

Throughout the discussion it became clear that the countries with authoritarian regimes did not want to budge from their position, but their proposals to create new regulations to
