I’m afraid I’ll need to open this message with a more serious tone compared with other times. Looking at the job market in recent months, I think fresh graduates from across all institutions including local universities and polytechnics have been facing increasing challenges finding their first jobs. Economic uncertainties have driven many employers to be more cautious in their hiring. The proliferation of AI is changing the way people work, and basic mundane tasks can now be quite efficiently done by AI. With these, and many other considerations, employers are now looking for higher-order technical skills, and soft-skills (such as creative thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, etc.) are more important than ever Employers are also shifting their preference to hire people with some work experienceinternships have now become a key differentiator among candidates in the hiring process What should you do to prepare yourselves to be more work-ready? I would like to suggest that your first stop should be Career Connect where you can find a broad range of services and resources that could help you whether you are an Explorer taking your first steps in your career journey, an Adventurer who is ready to level-up your career-readiness, or a Ranger who is ready to gain that competitive edge to fulfill your career aspiration, we are confident that you will find the help you need here!
