Can I book on more than one course? You may attend more than one course. Check out our Planner on page 15 to make sure the courses you wish to attend are not running at the same time. It will not be possible for you to attend more than one course on the same day.
What if I have booked but can’t now attend?
Spaces are limited on each of our Summer School courses. If you have booked a space but cannot attend, please let us know. We will often have a waiting list of people wanting to come and by informing us in advance you can no longer attend, this means we can then offer them your place.
Where and when are the courses?
Online booking form
Each day will begin at around 9.50am and finish at 3pm (unless otherwise stated) and will be on our Llandaff Campus. For further information and directions please look at our website: www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/llandaff
Parking space on campus is limited so if it is possible to come via Public Transport, we’d recommend doing so.
Cardiff Met operates a pay and display parking system, costing £1 for a half day and £2 for a whole day parking. If you intend parking on campus, you will need to enter the main entrance and turn right into the guest car park and visitors’ spaces. Please go into the main reception to register your car. You can then pay for parking and reception staff will direct you to available spaces. A Student Ambassador will be available at reception to give you any help needed.
Where do I come on the first morning?
Please report to the Main reception at the front of campus for the start of the course. Our Student Ambassadors will be there to welcome you, get you registered and take you to the Cardiff School of Management building where all classes will be held. What if I haven’t done any study for a long time?
You are not expected to come with any prior subject knowledge. The courses are set up for people who have been out of education for a while. Our experienced Tutors will
help you to develop your skills and expand your knowledge in a supportive, friendly and fun environment. These courses are intended to give you a taste of what it would be like to study at university.
We find that you will get a better learning experience if you are able to contribute to class discussions. However, if you are anxious about doing so you will not be forced to. We want you to enjoy the course and contribute as much or as little as feels comfortable to you.
Refreshments are not provided as part of our courses. However, some catering facilities are available oncampus to purchase drinks and cold food.
I can only attend one of the days of the course. Can I still come?
You will not be able to attend if you are unable to come on all the days on which the course is running. Very often our courses will build on the work done the previous day and it is disruptive to both the Tutor and other learners if you can only attend part of the course.
If I enjoy attending a Summer School course, what can I do next?
