II. HIGHLIGHTS Rosalina’s two main feeder schools (grades K-5) are failing schools according to federal standards; This, 6th grade students we receive are, on average, 2-3 years behind academically. META SCORES Improved Student performance on 2024 Meta tests will trend upwards with new strategies being implemented in comparison to the 2022 and 2023 META scores for math and spanish in all tested grades (analysis below); lack of electricity and internet in 4 of 6 buildings hindered 2023 performance significantly. College Board score was above state average in 2023 for the 1st time in over 20 years
FULL SERVICE COMMUNITY SCHOOL (FSCS) AWARD Puerto Rico’s first ever FSCS award granted to Caras-Vimenti alliance. Funding will support data-driven instruction, sustain afterschool programming, student support services, increase family services, and promote community alliances. Model will be rolled out across 3 academic years aligned with our strategic plan with a focus on socio-emotional learning, and moving the needle on META outcomes.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES 55% of students actively participate in extracurricular activities (volleyball, basketball, baseball, oratory, or STEM) amounting to 2,748.5 contact hours throughout the school year. TEAM AWARDS: Public Speaking (Oratory) Team was the only public school representative in island wide competition and won 1st place in their division and 2nd place overall. SPECIAL EDUCATION Created new guidelines manual for all teachers, as well as new training procedures for special ed teachers, and regular teachers; implemented internal campaign of our vision of inclusion of special ed; created an internal certification series of seminars for parents with internal certifications; revised methodology for creating student's individualized education plans.

WORK-STUDY YOUNG LEADERS AND CHANGEMAKERS: For the last 2 years students have consistently provided over 2,000 hours of community service within their own communities as a strategy to develop leadership and change making skills.
PATHWAYS TO POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION Applications to post-secondary institutions is up 54% since the conversion, while 60% of seniors who enrolled in postsecondary education programs are completing or have completed their degree, up 40% from 2018-2019.
Summer internships for 11th and 12th graders, and graduates, focusing on labor force experiences, exposure to different career paths, and postsecondary studies completion. Summer Internship 2022: 22 internships Summer Internship 2023: 29 internships 112 graduates (8 from the 2022 class, 4 from the 2023 class) have been recruited in part time positions within the organization acquiring professional experience within the fields of education, environmental sciences and research, and community services.
