Caras con Causa is an organization that drives community development to eradicate poverty through community, education, and ecology programs in marginalized communities of Cataño and Guaynabo Caras impacts children, youth, and adults in partnership with communities, academia, companies, and the government.

ECOLOGY PROGRAM
Our Urban Ecology Program seeks the conservation of the area's natural resources, incorporating reforestation programs, environmental education, and community science, with an emphasis on civic participation.
Urban Roots
Urban reforestation program carried out in the Ciénaga Las Cucharillas Natural Reserve, schools, communities, and public housing in Cataño and the north of Guaynabo Our reforestations create pollinator gardens and micro-forests to establish green spaces in communities to provide habitat and food for pollinator species, increase biodiversity, and mitigate the effects of climate change
LabCom
The Community Laboratory of Scientific and Cultural Empowerment (LabCom) combines environmental research that guides the Ciénaga Las Cucharillas Natural Reserve conservation work and surrounding areas with field experiences for students from the communities surrounding the reserve
Viveros Antillanos
Our nurseries produce native, endemic, and endangered shrubs and trees for our reforestation spaces We have installed nurseries in 6 schools for educational purposes.

Our Education Program offers tutoring projects, literacy reinforcement, university access, robotics team, internship program, and our Rosalina Caraballo González School
Tutoring Centers
Tutoring Program for 1st to 12th grade in various centers: Vietnam Estudia in Guaynabo (grades 1-6), Puente Blanco Educa in Cataño (grades 1-6), Rosalina Caraballo School in Guaynabo (5th-12th grade), and Onofre Carballeira School in Cataño (grades 6-8)
University Access
Trayecto Universitario is our guidance and access program to post-secondary opportunities for public school students aged 12-18 We promote school retention and post-secondary education, helping to define a professional path and preparation for postsecondary life
STEM Experiences
Our Robotics League works with public schools in Cataño and Guaynabo, with FIRST LEGO LEAGUE
It's a program for children and youth that promotes the development of STEM skills by solving real problems through meaningful and playful learning.
Escuela con Causa
The Rosalina Caraballo School promotes the human development of students and their families through a comprehensive offering of excellence centered on a sustainable development framework Our institution is a free, non-sectarian, and inclusive public-alliance middle and high school serving Cataño and the north of Guaynabo

Our Community Program is based on participation, empowerment, and various projects, such as housing, leadership, youth, emergencies, food, aging population, and case management
Support for Older Adults
The Food Route provides hot meals and non-perishable food to homes in Vietnam and Puente Blanco, prioritizing elderly people or those with health issues In addition, our Compartir con Causa organizes workshops on emotional healing, art, and monthly social activities for people over 60 years old
Community Beautification
We offer cleaning and maintenance in homes of elderly people or those with health conditions in Cataño and North Guaynabo, addressing various household chores and minor repairs
March for Peace
The March for Peace, an annual event, brings together various sectors of Cataño and North Guaynabo to promote peace in our communities since 2019 We claim individual and collective peace to counteract violence in our communities and create a more just, sustainable, and peaceful society This year, around 1,000 people attended
Community Organization
We help establish and strengthen boards of local leaders to address community needs. We support the permanence of our communities in the face of possible unfounded evictions.
Volunteers with a Cause
Our volunteer program involves youth and adults to increase civic participation in the work of social justice Throughout the year, they collaborate in tutoring, community beautification, tree and garden planting, among other activities.
Encounters
In collaboration with Amizade, we offer service experiences and cultural exchange in Puerto Rico for universities and American groups, generating support and community awareness Additionally, in 2023-2024, our youth is participating in a program abroad
