MY STORY
Master Guy Larke Jr. Master Guy Edward Larke was born on August 30th, 1970 in Kitchener, Ontario in Canada. It was the end of the golden age of martial arts in North America. Even as a toddler, he watched the likes of Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis, and his to be lifelong idol, Chuck Norris with his father who was in awe of Asian fighting arts. In addition to watching martial arts on the screen he was a voracious reader from a young age. He began reading books on Asian cultures and martial arts from elementary school. Afterwards, one of his school teachers pulled strings to get him accepted into an “adults only” Karate class in the town he was living in at the time. It was like something clicked. The fantasy became reality. After that every picture he drew, comic book he read, and movie he watched had martial arts content. From the 6th grade he began writing short stories. The protagonist was always a Westerner who lived and studied in Asia for some time. Nowadays that is not strange, but for the late 70’s and early 80’s in a small town it was odd indeed. Whenever he moved, he sought out the nearest dojo/ dojang, as well as the nearest bookstore and library. Although he changed over the years his passioned never diminished.
