Houston’s Hip Hop Artist, Actor and Producer Frank White has released his new album “New York Texas Music”. The album is released as of Tuesday December 9th, earlier this week, and is available for download on Amazon Music and iTunes, just a couple of the 93 digital retailers and over 15,000 brick and mortar stores that feature the album and the Artist.

The album features the hit single “I love Hip-Hop”. And while the title of the song may speak for itself, this particular work shows Mr. White’s open letter love affair with “hip-hop” as a genre and the powerful impact “hip-hop” has had on his life. In addition, the album contains the second hit single “98’ Malibu” a song that reflects on the public perceptions and values they have on material wealth. Also, with the turmoil happening in Missouri, the album contains a strong song called “Ferguson, Missouri” and with this song Mr. White asks questions and calls for more “LOVE” in the world, rather than placing blame and understanding other frustrations.

Released by Unkutt Global (the sister company to Frank White Film) and distributed by Maverick Entertainment, “New York Texas Music” is Frank White’s third album and his best music to date. The album sheds more light on Mr. White as an artist and it offers a variety of sounds that most people can identify with as a genre.

Director and Writer Kenny Riches, the Class Laboratory productions company and the Film Exchange are pleased to announce that their new comedy feature motion picture, “The Strongest Man” is accepted as a World Premiere featured film at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, coming up next year, January 22nd through February 1st, 2015 in Park City, Utah.

Written by Mr. Riches, the story follows “Beef”, an Anxiety-ridden Cuban construction worker and his Korean friend Conan as their lives get bumped off track the moment they agree to attend a spiritual meditation class. Not fully understanding the metaphor, Beef and Conan embark on a journey to find their respective “power animals” on the streets of Miami, where both wild dogs and chickens run rampant.

Conan’s relationship with his family crumbles, as Beef’s relationship with his neighbor, a young woman by the name of Llli, begins to flourish, but even with this excitement he can never seem to escape his looming anxiety.

Produced by Jesse Brown, Paul Chamberlain, Robert Hewitt, Jr., Anthony Pedone and Kenny Riches, casting includes Robert Lorie a Beef, Paul Cjamberlain as Conan and Ashly Burch as Llli. Also in this feature motion picture are Patrick Fugit, Lisa Banes, Davy Rothbart, Freddie Wong, David Park and Nancy Fong.

The Director of the hit cult movies “Dead of Knight” and “Conjoined”, Mr. Joe Grisaffi and Starship Films reports that their new comedy feature motion picture, “Lars The Emo Kid” is having its cast and crew sneak preview screening coming up this Saturday, December 13th.

Written by Paxton Gilmore and based on characters created by Mr. Paxton, the story follows Lars Hyde (played by Paxton Gilmore), a teen that is dealing with his parents’ divorce, the suicide of his best friend and the lure of drug use. This feature project is based on the webisode of the same name.

Twitchy Dolphin Flix and Austin Director James Christopher are calling on filmmakers to submit their projects to the 2015 Austin Revolution Film Festival...taking place Wednesday, September 23rd through Sunday, September 27th, 2015.

Formally called The Austin Indie Flicks Showcase, the festival has grown and rebranded themselves with a focus on bringing true indie projects to Austin, Texas. According to the Festival they are in the middle of an indie film revolution and have picked a name that reflects their focus - The Austin Revolution Film Festival.

With 39 awards categories to be handed out and 11 entry categories the Austin Revolution Film Festival is accepting Features, Shorts, Feature Screenplays, Webseries/TV, Music Videos, Trailers, Short Film Screenplays, Television pilots, Television Screenplays, Student Features and Student Short Film projects.

All projects must be the “original work” of the filmmakers and all filmmakers must have the necessary rights.

Films must not have distribution and Texas PREMIERES are preferred. Of course, The Austin Revolution Film Festival reserves the right to change their programming without notice.

Entry fees range from $30 to $50 depending on the entered category and specific deadline.

The Houston Film Commission and The Houston Actors Collective presented Gary Chason’s Golden Walnut Showcase, 2014 Thursday, December 4th, last week in the back patio of Café Brasil, in Houston, Texas. The annual event is gaining popularity and brought in about a little more than 100 movie fans to see what the Houston Actors Collective came up with. The Collective is a group of actors who produce duet short movies in which they can star. Mr. Chason, via his registration fee, is commissioned to write the screenplay and then produce and direct the indie projects.

Four short movies were created and screened including: “Puppet Love” starring Sarah Wychoff and Travis Dunn, “Perverse Disorder” starring Fabrizia Faustinella and Mark Docherty, “Baghead’s Table Dance” starring Lyndsey Case and Tommy Poynter and “The Beheading” starring Julitta Pourciau and Brian Watson.

Judges for the Golden Walnut Awards included Professional Agents, Casting Directors and various filmmakers. “Walnuts”, the coveted prize, were awarded for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Art Direction, Audience Favorite and, of course, Best Picture for 2014.

California-Texan Director Greg Carter and Gordon Bijelonic/Datari Turner Films presented the Houston Premiere of their new feature movie “Lap Dance”, Sunday, December 7th, 2014 at Houston’s Alamo Drafthouse-Vintage Park.

The premiere and screening was part of a fundraising event for one of Houston’s top motion picture organization’s The Southwest Alternate Media Project, or better known in the area as SWAMP of which Mr. Carter is a member.

People poured into the theater in support of SWAMP and in support of filmmaker Greg Carter who put together a feature motion picture starring Robert Hoffman, Ali Cobrin, Mariel Hemingway Briana Evigan, Datari Turner and Carmen Electra.

After the screening there was a Q and A where Houston Actress Jalene Mack, who was in the movie, moderated the session to the delight of the audience.

Based on the true events experienced by Mr. Carter prior to moving to Los Angeles in 2005, “Lap Dance” (formally titled Monica”) tells the story of a couple that is tested with adversity and thrown one tempting vise after another. As their love and their dreams of making it in Hollywood spiral slowly down the drain, the couple finds themselves slipping deeper and deeper into the world of fast money, alcohol, drugs and sex.

Link on the next page) Made with around a 300 thousand dollar budget, the production team did a very nice job in telling a good story AND bringing that story onto the big screen. After seeing the movie, you will wonder in astonishment how we will do what we do and how easy it is to lose control of your life and dreams when faced with adversity and having to be a responsible human being.

The fundraising event was a success for SWAMP and the Movie is currently, touring selected theaters in the United States. “Lap Dance” and is available on Netflix and Amazon.

The Organization and Founder of the Gulf Coast Film & Video Festival (GCFVF), Mr. Hal Wixon is accepting projects, sponsors and volunteers for the 17th Annual GCFVF, 2015 season.

The festival will take place in the Clear Lake/NASA/Houston area on Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th, 2015.

This last festival, 2014, was sold-out for the fourth consecutive year despite losing their special guest, Robert Patrick, to filming conflicts the year prior, 2013.

The 2014 16th Annual GCFVF awarded Texas Actor Brad Leland with their honored Lifetime Achievement Award and bestowed Best of Festival to Houston Director Shawn Welling for his project “Adamo”.

Houston area Director Chuck Walker, Producer Sam Cable and the WalkerCable Productions Company are in development and in the funding stages of their new dramatic/biblical feature motion picture “The Acts of Thaddeus”. The team is currently crowdfunding this project on Kickstarter.com, an online crowdfunding site for raising funds.

Executive Produced by Billy Haido and Vincent V. Shade, the story follows Thaddeus, one of the twelve Apostles. After the crucifixion of Christ, there is an outcry for faith in distant lands. Thaddeus and his companion Mari the Assyrian (a disciple of Jesus) travel to the region of Mesopotamia to convert Abgar, the Assryian King of Edessa. Succeeding in his mission, Thaddeus travels onward and gains followers and is stopped and seized in the Land of Sanatrouk by the tyrant King of Armenia for his devotion to Christianity. He is brutally tortured and suffers agony like none before and is left to rot in the dungeons of Sanatrouk. Not once does Thaddeus forsake Jesus and never surrenders the fight. He inspired others to convert and brings Christianity to the people in the prisons and even to some of his persecutors. As he struggles to survive and by divine intervention Thaddeus manages to escape. Brought to the brink of death he battles for freedom.

The Screenplay is based, of course, on the biblical accounts as well as other ancient sources like The Ecclesiastical History of Eusebius written around 325 A.D., the writings of Armenian Historian Movses Khorenatis (410-490 A.D), and ancient Syriac books including “The Doctrine of Addai” and “The Acts of the Apostle Mari”.

Collectively, The WalkerCable Productions company, Chuck Walker and Sam Cable have been making movie after movie including “Hank Zipzer”, “A Little Christmas Business”, “Return to Vengeance”, “The Texas Triangle”, “Mexican Gold”, “Retribution Road”, “Cartel, 1882”, “Burned Soul”, “Backstabber” and “The Man Who Came Back”.

Executive Producer Vincent Shade is an accomplished Director and 1st Assistant Director and winner of the Lumiere Award for Best 3D Televsion Show for his work on 3net’s miniseries “Fields of Valor: The Civil War 3D”.

Written and Directed by Mr. Beyer, and described as “Die Hard” meets “Hunt for Red October”, “Rogue Strike” (formally titled Deep Terror) follows a crew of marine biologists battling a terrorist plot to recover the ultimate weapon of mass destruction, (a device no bigger than a clock radio) that could take out an entire continent. When the Russian submarine K-519 sinks in the Pacific the biologists have to dive to the deepest part of the ocean in an untested mini-submersible to recover the device. A seasick filmmaker, hired to document the maiden voyage, and a maniacal sub captain clash as they are forced to choose between saving the people they love or saving mankind.
