Burwood

As the winter season settles in, I am excited to share the latest updates and initiatives from Burwood Council.
This season brings a host of exciting developments and community events designed to enrich our vibrant community. Together, we continue to build a connected, safe, and thriving Burwood. We are focusing on revitalising our green spaces with projects like the Keith Smith Park transformation and new inclusive playgrounds in Burwood and Croydon Park. These enhancements ensure our parks are accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Additionally, we are making significant investments in infrastructure, including the commencement of the delivery of over $110 million in community projects as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program as well as kerb and gutter replacements and footpath upgrades, to improve safety and accessibility across our public spaces.
We are also proud of our community engagement efforts, such as the Mayoral Street Stalls and the ongoing use of Participate Burwood. These initiatives allow us to gather valuable feedback and keep our residents informed and involved in shaping the future of Burwood. I invite you to explore the highlights of our recent achievements and upcoming events in this newsletter. Stay connected with us through our social media channels and e-newsletter for regular updates and opportunities to get involved in our vibrant community.

Burwood North Council officially adopted the Burwood North Precinct Masterplan in May 2024, marking a significant milestone in what is the result of two years of intensive strategy work that included technical studies, planning, urban design, and extensive community consultation.
The adoption of the Masterplan is a key stage in the planning process, but it is not the end. We will continue engaging with stakeholders as the planning process continues.
