San Diego Club Honors Seibert

Lysle Seibert's forty years at Dixieline Lumber in San Diego were awarded recognition by Club Three at their September meeting, along with the installation of new officers and awarding of the Perpetual Trophy.

The club presented Seibert with a set of ornamental scales. He had earlier received the traditional, inscribed gold watch from a genuinely grateful Dixieline for his years of excellence. Beginning as a truck driver in 1924 he soon moved to counter sales and at his retirement had complete charge of the mill and was manager of the sash and door department.

The presidential post at the club moved from retiring president Perry Smith to new president Ed Gavotto. Ed's father Carl had earlier been resident president. Other officers elected were: Clyde Jenkins, vp, and Chuck Hampshire, secretary-treasurer.

Gene Truck rolled up smoothly as winner to take home the Perpetual Trophy. He also rvon low net and low gross. As Ed Gavotto put it, 'a good day's work."

Present at the meeting were no less than seven former club presidents, one of whom was Lysle Seibert.
