Bofiling Dubs Ploy Son Jose Course

The 96th monthly tournament and Dubs, Ltd. gettogether was held at the San Jose Golf & Country Club September 21. Dubs President Gran Geisert reported a near all-time record of players, most of whom stayed on for an excellent steak dinner a la manager Metcalf. Following the banquet, the monthly low gross award was handed over to George Monnier, who registered a 77 on the San Jose 18. Other flight winners were as follows:

First flight: low net, Brian Bonnington (77-7); second low net, Ralph Lamon (81-10); third low net, Logan Owen (78-6).

Second flight low net went to Leo Cheim, Jr. (83-18), closely followed by Gran Geisert and Hollis Jones, who tied at 89-22-67.

Third flight winner was Bill Bonnell (95-32) ; second low'net went to Ev Lewis (97-30\ and third low net was copped by Tom Jacobsen with a 9G27-69 score card. In the guest flight division it was Mel Routt (93-33) for first place, and Leo Rider (96-35) for second low net. The 97th Dubs Tournament will be played on the Castlewood Country Club course, Friday, October 19.

Word & Horringfon Burglorized

Garden Grove, Calif.-A burglar broke into the office of the Ward & Harrington Lumber Company's yard here Sept. 13 and rifled a cash register. He is believed to have gained entry by removing a glass panel from a rear door.
