Annual Meeting of Southern Calilornia Retail Dealers

tVif l Be Held at Los Anseles April 21 -22

The 32nd annual meeting and exhibit of the Southern California Retail Lumber Association will be held at the Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles, on Thursday and Friday, April2l and 22.

A feature of the meeting will be the exhibits. 75 exhibitors will display their products and materials and ne'iv equipment.

The program is as follows: fhursday Morning 9:00 a.m. Registration. Visiting the exhibits.

Luncheon

12:15 p.m. Kick-off luncheon. Dr. Clayton D. Carus, Protessor of Foreign 'frade, School of Commerce, IJniversity of Southern California, will be the speaker. His subject is "Keep Learning"

Dr. Carus will award Certificates to the students 'ivho recently completed the Lumbermen's Training Course at the University.

Thursday Afternoon

12:15 p.m. Luncheon will be sponsored by the Los Angeles Hoo-Hoo Club. The speaker will be Lawrence D. Pritchard, Assistant Vice President of the Bank of America, Los Angeles, whose subject will be "The Business Man's Challenge."

Friday Afternoon

Address, "Can The Retail Lumber Dealer Be An Expert On Merchandising?" by Gates Ferguson, Director of Advertising, The Celotex Corporation, Chicago.

Address, "Dangers and Opportunities Ahead For The Lumber Dealers In 1949," by Arthur A. Hood, Vice President and Editor, American Lumberman and Building Products Merchandiser, Chicago.

Special awards of $100, $50, and $25 bonds to dealers in connection with a survey to be conducted at the meetings.

5:00 p.m. Dravvings for prizes to be awarded by exhibitors. Dealers, their employees, and the ladies can take part in the contest. The prizes are:
