John A. Elliott has been appointed paint sales supervisor for Pabco's Southern District by The Paraffine Companies' His territory includes Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. Mr. Elliott, and his sales staff, will make their headquarters in Los Angeles.

Mr. Elliott recently joined the Pabco paint sales stafi after lti years in the paint field including rvide, experience in factory operations, manufacturing, merchandising, advertising and retail sales.

Professor Roy Bainer, chairman of the Division of Agricultural Engineering of the University of Calidornia, was the speaker at the luncheon meeting oi the San Francisco Lumbermen's Club, held at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco, Mar'ch 22. The speaker h.ad recently returned from Japan, and his subject was "Observations in Japan." The talk, illustrated with colored pictures, proved to be most interesting, and Professor Bainer answered a number oi questions.

President Fred J. Ziese, Sr., Gamerston & Green Lumber Co., San Francisco, presided.

Appointed Sales Representctive

A & B Lumber Sales, Inc., Underwood Building, San Francisco, has been appointed sales representative for the San Francisco Bay region for Klamath Basin Pine Mills Corporation, Klamath Falls, Oregon, manufacturers of

Klamath soft pine lumber, and "Velva Wall" knotty pine paneling.

Principals in A & B Lumber Sales, Inc., are P. A. (Pete) Albertson, and E. C. Brandeberry.

Strcble Adds Two Sclesmen

Strable Hardwood Company, Oakland, recently added two new men to the sales force. Both are graduates of the University of California School of Forestry. They are Foster Murphy and Peter Phillips.

Mr. Murphy worked six months after graduation in the mill of Collins Pine Co. He was four years in the Army Air Forces as a meterologist, two years in the South Pacific.

Mr. Phillips was in the Navy during the war ,and rvorked in sawmills in summer vacations when in school.

2741h Terrible Twenty GolI Tourncment

Ed Bauer won the first prize with a net score of 68 at the 274th Terrible Twenty golf tournament held at the Hacienda Country Club, Whittier, on March 15. Dee Essley and George Ryness were hosts and they hosted beautifully. Ed had to be good, as four of the golfers rvere right on his tail, George Gartz, Helmer Hole, George Morris and George Ryness, each turning in a net score of 69 and the four-way tie will be played off at the April tournament.

George Ryn.r, was welcomed into the Terrible Twenty membership. Roy Stanton, recently returned from his South American trip, gave some interesting observations about Brazil and Argentine.
