Appointed Managz'r ol Western Division

Forrest W. Wilson has been appointed manager of the \Mestern. Division for the General Plywood Corporation of Louisville, Ky. His headquarters will be at the firm's Los Angeles office at 621 South Spring Street. He succeeds Clay H. Hollister who has resigned.

He has been associated with General Plywood since they opened the Los Angeles office a few months ago. He was formerly with the Masonite Corporation for a number of years, and previous to that was with the Little River Redwood Co.

Forrest is just back from a four weeks' trip over his territory which includes the seven Western states.

Georgicr-Pcrcific Elects

Three New Directors

Boykin C. Wright of New York, John R. Kimberly of Neenah, Wisc., and S. H. Swint of Augusta, Ga., have been elected as directors of Georgia-Pacific Plywood & Lumber Company, it was announced by Owen R. Cheatham, president. In addition, the following five company officials have been re-elected: Owen R. Cheatham, president; S. Rexford Black, vice president and assistant to the president i James L. Buckley, vice president; Eugene M. Howerdd, vice president; and Willard L. Heinrich, treasurer.

Plywood Inc. Buys Cqlilornic Plcrnt

Plywood Incorporated, Detroit, Michigan, has purchased the Klamath, Calif., plant and properties of the Crescent Plyrvood Company, according to an announcement March 31 by Paulus F. McKee, new manager.

The company was formerly known as the California Veneer Company. Plyrn'ood Incorporated will install nerv sanding dnd other equipment designed to turn out completely finished fir plyrvood.

J. D. Williamson Sales Co., 537 Washington Street, San Francisco 11, was recently appointed sales representative for Anacortes Veneer, Inc., Anacortes, Wash. Frederick M.'Hoblitt is sales manager.

Los Angeles Building Permits lor Mcrrch

Los Angeles building permits for March were 5,233, valued at $25,155,119, compared with 4,194 with a valuation of $25,286,866 in February, G. E. Morris, building superintendent, reported.

Housing permits for the two months were 2,447 and 2,404, respectively. So far this year 7,643 housing units have been completed. Permits for the year total $67,223,944, as compared to $87,988,116 for the first three months in 1948.
