Sherman Bishop, general manager of the California Redwood Association, San Francisco, recently spent a week in Southern California on business for the Association.

H. B. Cooper of Cooper-Morgan Lumber Co., Portland, and his wife, sailed on the Matson liner Lurline from San Francisco March 7 for Honolulu. They spent three lveeks in the Islands, where they called on relatives, and paid visits to a number of the islands. They flew back to San Francisco.

John Doane, formerly assistant traffic manager of the Calaveras Cement Company, has been appointed traffic manager of that company, with headquarters at 315 Montgomery St., San Francisco, it lvas announced by H. C. Maginn, vice president and chairman of the Operating Committee.

Southwest's Scrwmills at Flcrgstcrff And Overgaard Reopen

The sawmills of the Southwest Lumber Mills, Inc., at Flagstaff and Overgaard resumed operations on April 4.

Southwest's big sawmill at McNary operated at a reduced rate during the severe winter, and is making preparations to resume full-scale production in the near future.

The planing mill and power plant at the Southwest unit in Flagstaff operated through the winter, as did the planing mill and moulding factory at McNary.
