J. E. Ziegler, McCormick & Baxter Creosoting Co., Portland, Oregon, was elected president of the Western Wood Preserving Operators Association at its annual meeting held in the Clift Hotel, San Francisco, January 16 and 17, 1963.

Serving under Ziegler are F. S. Olmsted, International Paper Co., vice president; A. X. Baxter, J. H. Baxter & Co., treasurerl and J. R. McFarland, L. D. McFarland Co., secretary.

Theme of the meeting was "New Products for New Markets." Recognizing the increasing specialization requirements of industry, the association inaugurated an educational program to demonstrate how its recent developments in pressure treatment of forest products can meet this demand.
