Doors for the 59-story Pan American Building "the largest commercial office structure in the world," feature an incombust' ible Weldrok mineral core construction approved by the New York City Board of Standards and Appeals. Weldrok is an exclusive U.S. Plywood material. The doors, in birch, walnut or teak hardwood plywood finishes to match the tenants' choice of decors. are being fitted to the architects's specifications.

A variety of U.S. Plywood panels in exotic and domestic woods such as East Indian laurel, Brazilian rosewood, teak, oak and cherry, also will be used in the Pan Am Building.

In addition, U.S. Plywood subsidiary National Cincrete Cor' poration of Long Island City, N.Y. is supplying a quarter million cinder blocks in various sizes to back up the structural masonry of the building on stairways, elevator shafts and linings for steel heams and partitions.

Eight thousand Weldwood fire doors, the largest single fire door contract on record, are being supplied by United States Plywood Corporation through H. J. Butler Bros., Inc. {or the huge Pan American Buildine in mid-Manhattan.

The order *u. th" latest in a series of door contracts already supplied tr1. U.S. Plywood or in the works for many of the huge projects in the current building bonanza in New York. Some of these are the Chase Manhattan, Seagram, Union Carbide and Sperry Rand skyscrapers; the Summit, New York Hilton and Americana hotels. and such housing projects as Lincoln Center.
