CHIP Notionol Kitchen Remodeling School to Be Held in Fresno

CHIP National's second kitchen Remodeling School is scheduled for March 19, 20 and 2I at the Hacienda Motel in Fresno, California.

The three-day school under the direction of George Siddall was acclaimed an outstanding success after the initial meeting at Covina.

The school is built on the premise that kitchen remodeling is one of the most important parts o{ the expanding home improvement field today; and the school teaches how to plan, promote and sell kitchen remodeling at a profit.

Siddall is not only well grounded in teaching, contracting, retailing, and managing, he has spent years learning the home improvement field "inside.out." In 1949 he went to Wilmar's Inc. in San Jose, and soon after became manaser of their home improt'ement contracting.

Siddall spent much time in training schools. being graduated from an Advanced Course in Hardware Retailing; General Electric College of Kitchen Planningi Hotpoint and Tappan-Youngstown Training Courses; Building Supply News' School of Kitchen Merchandising; House Beautiful Home Improvement Management Training Course: and he has studieJunder such well known people as Art Johns, of the Living for Young Homemakers Design Center; Ron Ringenberg, of Mutschler Bros. Co.; and Genevieve Young, Consultant for Gregg and Sons, Inc. He has appeared on several panels including the National Institute of Wood Kitchen Cabinets, at the request of Kitchen Business Magazine editors.

Costlemon Closes Tiburon lumber Co.

John Castleman announced the closing of his Tiburon Lumber Company branch last month noting that customers in the Tiburon Peninsula area could look to Mill Valley Lumber Company for a more complete line of lumber and building materials. Besides Mill Valley Lumber Company, Castleman also operates a large branch yard atNovato, California.

San Bruno lumber Enlarges Showroom

San Bruno Lumber Company recently enlarged and remodeled its store to accommodate its growing volume of retail walk-in trade. Located at the corner of Angus and Mastick Avenues, the yard is managed by John Bacon.
