A. C. AHRENS
Arthur C. "Bo" Ahrens, chairman of the board of directors of California Sugar & Western Pine Agency, Inc., died July 22, 1978 in San Mateo, Ca., He was 76. The cause of death was cerebrovascular thrombosis.
A native of Galveston, Tx., he first went to work in the lumber industry in Elizabeth, La., at the age of 14.
He came West in 1927 to work for the Quincy Lumber Co. in Northern California, and became sales manager of the Clover Valley Lumber Co. in Loyalton in 1935. He joined the Sugar Pine Agency in 1938 as apartner and retired as chairman, at the end of 1976.
He was a member of a number of fraternal and industry organizations.
Mr. Ahrens is survived by his widow, Mary Day Ahrens; one brother; one sister, a son and a daughter; and 5 grandchildren.
Haroldmcdaniel
Harold McDaniel, founder of McDaniel Building Supply, Eugene, Or., died July 26,1978. He was 77.

He was born in Iowa,Aug. 22,1900, attended Drake University ana worked for the Copeland Lumber Co. in Missouri and Washington State before moving to Eugene, Or., in 1940 to start his own business, the McDaniel Lumber Co. It is now operated as McDaniel Building Supply. McDaniel retired in I 971
He was also active in social and civic affairs.
Mr. McDaniel is survived by his widow, Vivian; a son, eight brothen and sisters; and two grandchildren.
