Quiet Chain Saw
Tenson Co's Minibrute l2-volt chain saw makes only one-tenth the noise of gasoline powered saws, and one-fourth the noise of electric chain saws, according to the company.
An automotive battery is the power source. To operate, simply attach the battery clips of the saw's power cable to your l2-volt battery and press the switch for instant starting. It does not use power except when it is cutting. Most automotive batteries have power enough to cut a pickup load of wood.
Power output is 985 watts. It has a chain tension adjuster, wrap-around "close cut" type handle bar, plus automatic and manual chain oiling, and 7-lb. powerhead with a 20'power cable and 14" sprocket nose bar.
Underslab Vapor Barrier
To solve the problem of moisture migration into a building structure, St. Regis Paper Co. has a new, improved quality underslab vapor barrier, Moistop 395.
It is applied after the base for concrete has been leveled and tamped with the 96" width laid parallel to the direction of the pour of concrete. Because of its unique multi-ply construction, it reportedly offers a high degree of resistance to abrasion, scuffing, puncturing and tearing and its improved structure provides easy lay-down in cold weather.
